  • Patent number: 8144243
Abstract: The present invention relates to a camera module assembled by using a connector. The present invention provides a camera module including: a main substrate having an image sensor mounted on an upper surface and a connector insertion groove formed at one side of the image sensor; a plurality of connectors mounted in a row in the connector insertion groove; a housing mounted on the main substrate and having a lens barrel vertically movably coupled therein; a flexible printed circuit board mounted to surround an outer peripheral surface of the housing while being electrically connected to a lens transfer device coupled to one side of the housing; and a shield case coupled to the outer peripheral surface of the housing. Since it is possible to minimize a distance between pads which are connectable through the connector, there is an advantage of miniaturizing the camera module as a whole by size reduction of the main substrate.

  • Patent number: 8144238
Abstract: In position and orientation measurement based on natural features, erroneous detection of the natural features is prevented when an observation target object is occluded by another object, and registration stability is improved. To this end, an occluding object that can occlude the observation target object is defined, and an occluding region where the occluding object occludes the observation target object is detected in an input captured image. Image features of the observation target object are detected in a region of the captured image other than the detected occluding region. Therefore, the position or orientation of an image pickup apparatus that captured the captured image, or the position or orientation of the observation target object in the captured image are calculated.

  • Patent number: 8134606
Abstract: A system and method for creating composite images by utilizing a camera comprises a cradle device that transports the camera across a target area during a scanning procedure that captures and stores image data. During the scanning procedure, a motion detector captures and provides scan motion data to a scanning manager from the camera. The scanning manager may then responsively utilize the scan motion data to accurately extract still frames corresponding to the target area from the captured image data at pre-determined time intervals. A stitching software program may then access and combine the still frames generated by the scanning manager to thereby create composite images.

  • Patent number: 8134604
Abstract: Movement of an imaging device is detected using a camera shake detection sensor or a motion vector obtained from an image signal, and camera shake correction is performed by shifting an extraction frame (valid photographing region) within a photographable maximum region based on the motion detection result. When movement of the imaging device is causing a face region located at the edge of the extraction frame to move towards out of the frame, it is determined that the movement is due to camera shake, and the extraction frame is moved so that the face region can stay within the frame. Meanwhile, when movement of the imaging device is causing the face region to move inward within the frame, it is determined that the movement is due to a pan or tilt operation, and position control is performed so that the deliberate movement is not inhibited.

  • Patent number: 8115839
Abstract: According to the present invention, an image signal processor, comprising a receiver, a mixing block, and an adjustment block, is provided. The receiver receives first, second, and third color pixel signals which an imaging device outputs. The mixing block generates first, second, and third color mixed pixel signals. The first, second, and third color mixed pixel signals are generated by mixing the first, second, and third color pixel signals generated by all the first, second, and third color pixels occupying a space of which the area is a second predetermined area whose the center is in agreement with the center of the first, second, and third color mixed pixel areas, respectively. The adjustment block adjusts the signal levels of the first, second, and third color mixed pixel signals based on first, second, and third pixel numbers.
