  • Patent number: 11924812
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced trigger frames. Some implementations more specifically relate to trigger frame designs that support gains in data throughput achievable in accordance with the IEEE 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced trigger frame may be used to solicit a non-legacy trigger-based (TB) physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) from one or more wireless stations (STAs). In some implementations, the enhanced trigger frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard. For example, an enhanced trigger frame may be configured in accordance with a legacy trigger frame format or a non-legacy trigger frame format. Thus, when configured in accordance with the legacy trigger frame format, the enhanced trigger frame can also be used to a legacy TB PPDU from one or more STAs.

  • Patent number: 11917670
Abstract: A first communication device in a first WLAN determines a channel estimate of a communication channel between the first communication device and a second communication device in a second WLAN using measurements at the first communication device of a first transmission between the second communication device and a third communication device in the second WLAN. The first communication device generates a PPDU for transmission to a fourth communication device in the first WLAN, including: determining, using the channel estimate, a precoder matrix to use for transmitting the PPDU in the first WLAN, and generating the PPDU using the precoder matrix so that interference at the second communication device in the second WLAN caused by transmission of the PPDU by the first communication device in the first WLAN is reduced. The first communication device transmits the PPDU to the fourth communication device in the first WLAN as a directional second transmission.

  • Patent number: 11916795
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for processing a received packet based on associated state information. A packet processor of a network device receives a packet from a network. The received packet is classified as belonging to at least one respective identified flow from among a plurality of identified flows. For a respective received packet that belongs to an identified flow a current state value for the identified flow is ascertained based on a state table. The current state value is assigned to the respective received packet based on the current state value using the state table for the identified flow. A packet processing operation is subsequently performed on the respective received packet based in part on the state value of the identified flow to which the respective packet belongs.

  • Patent number: 11856596
Abstract: Techniques include retrieving from storage a plurality of policies for sharing a shared channel among nodes in a data communications network. The plurality of polices define a tree of periodic schedules of variable periods, each policy defines a transmit time slot as a unique slot i of a modulus of a power m of a base b of a series of time slots, where m indicates a level of the tree of periodic schedules. The method also includes; observing at a first node the probabilities of empty time slots, successful time slots, and collision time slots on the shared channel; selecting at the first node a first policy among the plurality of policies based on the probabilities observed instead of a message received from a central authority; and transmitting a local data packet from the first node onto the shared channel at a transmit time based on the first policy.

  • Patent number: 11848898
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques leverage user equipment (UE) functionality to repeat wireless signals received from a base station to one or more other UEs and received from one or more other UEs to the base station. The repeating UE receives, during a transmission time interval reserved for one of uplink communication or downlink communication, a signal from a first device. The UE operates in a time division duplex network. The UE routes the signal, via a radio-frequency (RF) transmission path from an RF receive chain of the UE to an RF transmit chain of the UE. The UE retransmits the signal to a second device during the transmission time interval.

  • Patent number: 11844089
Abstract: Group transmission of data from a group of User Equipment devices to a network node of a cellular communication system where communication between devices is effected by device-to-device technology can provide significant improvements in uplink coverage and user bit rate. However, the benefits of group transmission means that not all devices of a group have sufficient network coverage to reliably receive a grant signal scheduling uplink resources from a network node. Methods, devices and a network node are proposed that enable the dynamic selection of either a direct grant mode, in which each device receives the uplink grant directly from the network, or a relayed grant mode, in which a device acting as group coordinator relays the grant to all members of the group, to ensure optimal performance for group transmissions. The selection is dependent on at least one determined condition relating to the group of devices and/or the group transmission.
