  • Patent number: 10774719
Abstract: A side feed inlet port for an injector, which makes use of stamped parts to form a compact, high strength three-piece inlet port at a significantly reduced cost. By using an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve, injector sealing is accomplished using the interior sleeve, creating a sealing point, while allowing for inlet conduit attachment to the outer sleeve at, above, or below the sealing point of the DEF injector. The construction of the inlet port is such that there is proper sealing between the inner sleeve and one or more seals, while allowing for the connection between the inlet conduit and the outer sleeve to reduce the overall height of the inlet port, and therefore, the injector. The position of the inlet conduit may be altered without affecting the sealing connection between the inner sleeve and the seal(s), such that the desirable overall height may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 10743461
Abstract: The present inventors have recognized that a spinner spreader system may be augmented with an air assist system in which an air current is generated to engage particles after they have left the spinner spreader system to thereby enhance the trajectory of the particles. In one aspect, one or more fans with appropriate ductwork may be added below one or more spinning disks to direct jets or curtains of air in the direction of the broadcast pattern of particles leaving the one or more disks. The directed air stream should preferably be faster than the particles leaving the one or more disks, thereby adding additional acceleration to the particles compensating opposing forces.

  • Patent number: 10743463
Abstract: A spreader having a hopper for particulate material with discharge openings over two separate different areas along the hopper bottom, a pair of wheels upon separate drive shafts mounted for rotation to a lower frame which supports the hopper, and a rear frame extending from the hopper to provide a pair of handles. Two rotatable shafts with agitator elements are mounted over each of the different hopper areas. Each of the agitator shafts are coupled for rotation by different ones of the drive shafts. Two gates with openings are disposed below the hopper each along different ones of the areas dividing the hopper bottom. Each gate is movable to close and open the openings of the hopper in the area associated with the gate. A pair of controllers are provided each coupled to a different one of the two gates to independently move the gates between open and close positions.

  • Patent number: 10743459
Abstract: A hand-held spreader is provided having a housing with a compartment for particulate material, a chamber below the compartment having a bottom wall with a circular aperture, an impeller mounted for rotation in the chamber along such bottom wall responsive to a hand crank, a discharge opening, and a path along which the particulate material passes into the chamber for discharge via the discharge opening. The impeller has an outer circular periphery proximal to and extending over an outer edge of the aperture to form a gap between the impeller and the bottom wall of the chamber that seals the gap from the particulate material larger than the gap from entering under the impeller and risking obstruction of impeller rotation. Any particulate material that enters the gap passes downward through the aperture to enable self-cleaning of particulate material that would otherwise collect under the impeller in the chamber.

  • Patent number: 10722856
Abstract: A multi-disk spinning disk assembly for atomization and encapsulation applications. A number of disks 17a and spacers (33, 40) are stacked to form a disk stack 17 having a feed well 31 in the center core of the stack. The fluid to be atomized or encapsulated is delivered to the feed well 31. The fluid then flows into spacer channels (37, 41) within or on the surface of the spacers. The channels (37, 41) communicate the fluid toward the outer edges of the disks 17a. The disk surface past the spacers (33, 40) can have various configurations, such as teeth, weirs, or a bigger or smaller diameter, as desired for particular atomization or encapsulation characteristics.

  • Patent number: 10717097
Abstract: A spray gun includes a valve cartridge configured to be axially installed and removed as a single piece. The valve cartridge includes the wear components of the spray gun. A trigger of the spray gun is configured to actuate a slider of the valve cartridge to control spraying by the spray gun. The trigger includes arms that are mounted to the spray gun by a pivot mechanism. The pivot mechanism can be disengaged from the arms to allow the trigger to slide between a spray position, where the trigger prevents forward axial movement of the valve cartridge, and a repair position, where the valve cartridge can move axially forward. The trigger also includes upper and lower portions that are movable relative to each other, such that the length of the trigger can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 10702727
Abstract: What is disclosed is an improved portable fire extinguisher adapted for persons with disabilities that for one reason or another are unable to effectively use two arms and hands to handle a standard portable fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher is comprised of the standard main components for a portable fire extinguisher; that is, a gas cylinder, a discharge locking seal and pin, a discharge valve and actuating lever, and a discharge hose/nozzle; plus several hardware enhancements that make it easier for a user to don and use the improved fire extinguisher when the user can only use one hand and/or arm. Those hardware enhancements include an upper-handle actuator-extension member with a large vertical torso-engagement area, pivotable stabilizer arms, a cylinder-mounted retaining strap/collar, neck-strap-anchors and neck strap, a pivotable discharge hose/tube sleeve, and a pivotable stop member for preventing inadvertent actuation.

  • Patent number: 10695733
Abstract: A multi-disk spinning disk assembly for atomization and encapsulation applications. A number of patterned disks are stacked to form a disk stack having a feed well in the center core of the stack. Each patterned disk has channels defined by spacers, with the channels and spacers being of varying depths, heights, and/or widths. The fluid to be atomized or encapsulated is delivered to the feed well. The fluid then flows into the channels, which communicate the fluid toward the outer edges of the disks. The fluid exits the disk stack from a circumferential gap, which is created by interposing spacing disks between the patterned disks.

  • Patent number: 10634407
Abstract: A method, in particular for generating snow from water, using a low-pressure hydraulic device having a pump unit, to which a purification system is connected, and a distribution device having at least one high-pressure pump, to which a high-pressure unit having a snow cannon and/or a different snow-generating unit is connected. In order for the bonding of the water molecules in the supermolecular water structure of the process water to change and the generation of snow to improve, according to the invention at least part of the water used is exposed to an ionization field and/or a polarization field while simultaneously being exposed to the effects of an alternating electromagnetic field so that a weaker bonding of the water molecules in the supermolecular water structure is achieved, resulting in an improvement in the absorption and transfer of heat. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 10634105
Abstract: One passage for swirling is formed in an orifice plate fixed on a nozzle body. Two swirl chambers in which fuel is caused to swirl so that the fuel has swirling force are provided at an end of the one passage for swirling on the downstream side of the flow direction of fuel. Therefore, the collision between the swirling flow in the swirl chamber and the fuel flowing in the passage for swirling is mitigated, and the swirling flow can be smoothly produced to promote pulverization of sprays injected from fuel injection ports.
