Abstract: There is provided a device to facilitate closing doors for people who use wheelchairs or have other mobility challenges. The device can be secured to an internal or external door surface using conventional means, at a height similar to the height of a typical door handle, but closer to the hinges than a typical door handle. The device comprises a base portion for securing the device to the door surface, an arm extending from the base portion, and a handle at the distal end of the arm. During operation, the device allows a person in a wheelchair to close the door by grabbing the handle of the device without positioning the wheelchair within the door frame. There is also provided a biasing device to return the arm to a biased position.

Abstract: An improved clamping mechanism that enables rapid and secure attachment to a wide variety of objects and includes an adjustable cuff that incorporates a ratchet mechanism to adjustably and quickly surround and securely contact elongated cylindrical members of various diameters. An additional set screw is incorporated to further tighten a portion of the cuff against a surface of the clamped cylindrical members. The improved clamping mechanism can be used to attach microphones, lights, instruments, smartphones, and other items to existing poles or stands or other equipment, and can be used to manage cables, ropes, wires, and other types of elongated items.

Abstract: A hinge comprising: a first hinge member (110) comprising a cylinder barrel (117) having a longitudinal direction (118); a second hinge member (111) pivotably mounted on the first hinge member (110); and a dashpot interposed between said hinge members (110, 111) and configured for damping a closing movement of said closure member. The dashpot comprises a closed cylinder cavity formed within the cylinder barrel (117); a damper shaft (124) which extends into the cylinder cavity and is connected to the second hinge member (111); and a piston (147) within said cylinder cavity. The hinge members (110, 111) are made of a synthetic material and the damper shaft (124) is made of metal.

Abstract: A solar power system includes at least one mounting assembly including a rail, at least one framed solar module, and at least one clip to secure the solar module to the rail. The clip includes at least a pair of sidewalls extending from a top plate or rear wall, each sidewall including a slot, a recess, and a locking member, at least one of the slot, recess, or both include a serrated edge. The clips may secure a solar module to the rail by coupling to the frame of the solar module to a rail of the mounting assembly within the slots of the sidewalls. The clips may be secured to the mounting assembly by locking members positioned on a distal end thereof. The clips may establish an electrical grounding connection between the frame of the solar module and the rail.

Abstract: A cable bundling system is disclosed. The cable bundling system includes a base having an opening extending through the base; a barb supported by the base and extending at least partially across the opening; and a strap adapted to be advanced through the opening in a first direction. When the strap is displaced in a second direction opposite the first direction, the barb pierces a medial portion of the strap such that the barb contacts the base. The strap can include a longitudinal groove extending a length of the strap, and the barb has a piercing portion opposite a supported portion. The piercing portion can pierce the medial portion of the strap.

Abstract: A buckle assembly can include a first buckle, a second buckle, and an operating component. The first buckle component can include a locked portion. The second buckle component can be configured to be engaged with the first buckle component, and the second buckle component can include a locking portion engageable with the locked portion. The operating component can be partially embedded in the second buckle component and partially exposed out of the second buckle component. The operating component can be slidable relative to the second buckle component such that sliding movement of the operating component relative to the second buckle component causes disengagement between the first buckle component and the second buckle component. The operating component can include an abutting portion, and the abutting portion can abut against the locking portion to resiliently deform the locking portion during the sliding movement of the operating component.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for maintaining a position of a vehicle door relative to a vehicle frame may include a link and a fastener. The link may have a first end and a second end. The first end may have a loop and the first end may be at an opposite end of the link from the second end. The fastener may be on a surface of the link and may be configured to fasten the link to the vehicle frame. A hook may be on the second end. The loop may be an arc or an incomplete circular portion. The vehicle may be a rotorcraft vehicle.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a strap system for securing a payload. The strap system includes a first fastener having a connecting crosspiece, a reversing crosspiece, and a hanger capable of attaching to the payload. The strap system also includes a strap attached to the connecting crosspiece of the first fastener and capable of passing around the payload, passing between the connecting crosspiece and the reversing crosspiece, and tightening the strap around the payload.

Abstract: The fastening device for the air cylinder includes a belt having a first end portion and a second end portion, a coupling ring attached to the first end portion of the belt, and a buckle to which the second end portion of the belt is attached. The buckle includes locking grooves in which locking portions of the coupling ring are releasably locked. The locking grooves include openings that gradually widen toward a rear face side. The front face of the buckle includes bent portions that are brought into contact with an outer circumferential face of the air cylinder when coupling between the belt and the coupling ring is released.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a clothing string clip that attaches to clothing strings. A user pivots the rotatable hub, opening the front plate with respect to the back plate. The open position exposes a portion of the interior region including the contoured clothing string recessed channels. The user inserts a clothing string across the contoured clothing string recessed channels and into the clothing string channel. The user releases the top plate. The spring pivots the rotatable hub, aligning the top and back plates closed. In the closed position, the clothing string clip constricts and grips the clothing string within the contoured clothing string recessed channels and the clothing string channel, abating slipping of the clothing string clip along the clothing string during use, such as wearing, by the user. The user can press the front and back plates together to release the interlocked front and back tabs before opening.

Abstract: A modular connector for mounting on a string. The connector includes an integral inner string attachment configured to grasp substantially permanently the string. An integral intermediate sleeve is made of a magnetic material, has a head and an inner face with a lip located in the inner face proximate the head, and is configured to enclose and hold the string attachment with the lip blocking the string attachment from exiting the intermediate sleeve after the string attachment has been inserted into the intermediate sleeve. An integral outer decorative cover is adorned with an indicia, has a bottom, and is configured to enclose the intermediate sleeve. A magnet is positioned in the bottom of the decorative cover to affix temporarily yet securely the intermediate sleeve flush inside the decorative cover. Also disclosed are a kit that combines two or more components of the connector and a method of using the connector.
