    Abstract: Technologies directed to hash spreading to extend a wireless coverage are described. One method includes receiving input bits and control information that specifies a first data rate and a second modem scheme having a second signal range that is greater than a first signal range corresponding to a first modem scheme. The method generates a first sequence of bits by scrambling the input bits, the first sequence of bits having a first number of bits. The method generates a second sequence of bits by hash spreading the first sequence of bits using a set of spreading codes. The second sequence of bits has a second number of bits greater than the first number of bits. The method generates first symbols by modulating the second sequence, converts the first symbols into radio frequency (RF) signals, and sends the RF signals to the second wireless device.

The packets transmitted by the radios may preferentially include the same information. Moreover, the transmitting electronic device may attempt to maintain the redundant communication if a performance metric associated with the one or more channels degrades. For example, the transmitting electronic device may transfer communication to a different channel or may compress the information in the packets in the one or more channels if the throughput drops below a threshold value.

Each packet replicator receives a data structure associated with a multicast packet that identifies a multicast group. The first physical egress port is a member of LAG. Each packet replicator determines that the first physical egress port is not operational and identifies a second physical port in the LAG for sending the multicast packet to the member of the multicast group. When a packet replicator is connected to the same egress pipeline as the second physical egress, the packet replicator provides the identification of the second physical egress port to the egress pipeline to send the packet to the multicast member. Otherwise the packet replicator drops the packet.
