  • Patent number: 10076389
Abstract: A processing device receives a 3D model including a 3D crown component from a scan and a 3D root component from a template. The processing device receives a 2D x-ray image of the at least one tooth and generates a scan model representing an initial estimate of the one or more parameters of an x-ray imaging device that created the 2D x-ray image. The processing device further generates a 2D contour of the at least one tooth based on projecting the 3D model onto a plane using the scan model. The processing device overlays the 2D contour onto the 2D x-ray image. The processing device further adjusts the 2D contour to cause a first crown component of the 2D contour to approximately align to a second crown component of the 2D x-ray image. The processing then calibrates the scan model based on data obtained from adjusting the two-dimensional contour.

  • Patent number: 10007644
Abstract: Actual values of statistical signatures are computed. The actual values of statistical signatures correspond to analytical elements of a sample dataset. The computed actual values are discretized by assigning bucket values to the computed actual values. An aggregate score based on the assigned bucket values are computed. The assigned bucket values correspond to the analytical elements. The analytical elements of the sample dataset are ranked, based on the computed aggregate score. Combination of analytical elements is identified, and cumulative rank is computed based on the individual ranks of the analytical elements in the combination. The combinations of analytical elements are automatically displayed in a user interface associated with automatic visual discoveries.

  • Patent number: 9846753
Abstract: In a simulation system and method thereof, the simulation includes, when a function value for a nominal point (NP) of an input is a first value, running a first simulation on the input; and when the function value for the NP of the input is a second value different from the first value, running a second simulation on the input. Here, the running of the second simulation may include (a) setting a boundary of an input distribution for the second value as a first distribution value, (b) generating input samples within the set boundary of the input distribution, (c) obtaining a worst case point (WCP) for the input by performing machine learning on the generated input samples, and (d) repeatedly performing the steps (a) to (c) while shifting the boundary of the input distribution until the boundary of the input distribution reaches a minimum critical value.

  • Patent number: 9810212
Abstract: A pump apparatus has a downhole pump disposed in a wellbore and has motor at a surface of the wellbore, and the downhole pump is reciprocated in the wellbore by a rod string operatively moved by the motor. A card indicative of load and position of the downhole pump is generated using surface measurements and a wave equation model having a damping factor or two damping factors. Actual fluid load lines are determined from the downhole card for upstroke and downstroke of the downhole pump, and calculated fluid load lines from the load distribution of the downhole data. The actual fluid load lines are compared to the calculated fluid load lines so that at least one parameter of the pump apparatus can be modified based on the comparison. For example, the damping of the wave equation model can be adjusted so that another downhole card can be generated.

  • Patent number: 9753894
Abstract: A method is provided for establishing availability of a two-engine aircraft for a predefined ETOPS flight. The method may include calculating a probability of a dual independent engine shutdown sequence for each of a climb phase, a plurality of cruise phases including an ETOPS phase, and a descent phase into which the predefined ETOPS flight is divisible. The shutdown sequence may be composed of events that for each phase may include events having respective, conditional probabilities specific to a model of the two-engine aircraft, a product of which is the probability of the shutdown sequence for the respective phase. The method may include calculating the risk of the shutdown sequence as a function of a sum of the probabilities for the phases, and establishing availability of the aircraft based on the risk and a preexisting baseline. A similar method is provided for establishing availability of an ETOPS flight path.
