Abstract: A method and system for determining a service description most closely matching a service name provided by a user. It is determined that the service name provided by the user is not an exact match to a service name in a service registry that comprises service names and associated service descriptions. A ranked service name is generated and includes at least one alternative service name and a respective rank of each alternative service name. The respective rank indicates how closely the alternative service name associated with the respective rank resembles the service name provided by the user. It is ascertained that a service description associated with a service name in the service registry that either matches the highest ranked alternative service name in the service name list or matches the next highest ranked alternative service name in the service name list. The ascertained service description is communicated to the user.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and arrangement for generating event data from e.g., a meeting. A management system, an event template repository and a user equipment is provided. The management system is preferably a CRM system and is arranged to manage customer related information. The event template repository stores template information comprising at least one input query corresponding to customer information and having a plurality of associated input values, and input interpretation information for determining an input value and an action for each input value. The user equipment, having at least a display and an input capturing device, presents the user with an input query and captures a user input in response. An input value and an action is determined for each user input in accordance with input interpretation information. Furthermore, the determined action is executed.

Abstract: Methods and systems for learning models of the preferences of members drawn from some population or group, utilizing arbitrary paired preferences of those members, in any commonly used ranking model are disclosed. These methods and systems utilize techniques for learning Mallows models, and mixtures thereof, from pairwise preference data.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer storage media are provided for generating rich navigational study aids for electronic books. For a particular section of interest in a document, one or more related sections for providing additional context to the particular section are determined. The related sections are ranked based on a score indicating significance to the particular section. Based on a user's information processing preference, a set of ranked navigational links to each related section is presented to the user for additional context related to the particular section.

Abstract: An approach is provided for aggregating business data. Based on received columns, attributes, and keys of a dataset, the dataset is registered in a central hub of datasets which include data that is independently and locally maintained. Initial or updated data is loaded into the dataset in the central hub. Other datasets in the central hub that include columns, attributes, or keys that match the received columns, attributes, or keys, respectively, are determined and displayed. In response to receiving a user selection of one or more of the displayed datasets, cross-links between the dataset and each of the one or more selected datasets are automatically generated. The cross-links are based on the columns, attributes, or keys of the displayed datasets that match the received columns, attributes or keys. The cross-links provide an aggregation of business data in the dataset and the one or more selected datasets.

Abstract: A method and system for converting XML files to and from files in a data format based on hierarchies in real-time. A method for converting from XML to the data format based on hierarchies includes: applying a stylesheet to at least one XML file thereby generating at least one data record in an intermediate format and including information included in the at least one XML file; and, translating the at least one record in the intermediate format to the data format based on hierarchies. A method for converting from a data format based on hierarchies to XML includes: translating at least one record including information stored in the file format based on hierarchies to an intermediate format; and, applying a stylesheet to the at least one record in the intermediate format thereby generating at least one XML file being indicative of the information and suitable for transmission.

Abstract: Sparse data may be stored in a search index such that one or more data points related to a number of entities may be queriable. Upon detection of a data point related to an entity, an integer array may be created for the data point to store within a single column of the search index, the integer array including an identifier of the entity and a value associated with the data point. In response to receiving a request from a user to perform a query on the search index that includes the data point, the query may be transformed to a corresponding range based on the identifier of the entity. Upon execution of the query, the identifier may be removed and query results may be provided to the user as another array with a user-compatible identifier for the entity such that the results may be understood by the user.

Abstract: A first splicer manages a get-list request coming from a player and parameterized with an identifier of a first content and a group identifier. The first splicer obtains an initial playlist having a first URI template, pointing towards a first server and pre-parameterized with the identifier of the first content, and a first list of segment identifiers. The first splicer builds and transmits a final playlist to the player including a second URI template, pointing to a second splicer and pre-parameterized with the identifier of the first content and the group identifier, and a second list of virtual segment identifiers. Each virtual segment is associated with a segment of the first content or of an alternative content.

Abstract: In a method, system, and computer-readable medium having instructions for sharing information between tenants of a multi-tenant database, information is received on a connection between a first tenant of a multi-tenant database and a second tenant and the connection has information on a scope of data from the first tenant shared with the second tenant, data is allowed for a record of the first tenant to be accessible to the second tenant in accordance with the connection, information is received on a file related to the record of the first tenant, and data is allowed from the file to be accessible to the second tenant in accordance with the connection.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for managing a distributed database. A data management application can obtain a query. The data management application can analyze the query to determine a number of data structures relevant to the query. The data management application also can analyze data stores storing the data structures and move or assign data structures to other data stores within a distributed database. The movement of the data structures within the distributed database can be based upon greedy algorithms for moving data and/or executing queries.

Abstract: An Internet-based system capable of automatically maintaining contact-related information in any computer software application or digital device which stores or manages contact-related information. More particularly, the system allows users to automatically enter and maintain contact-related information in a digital address book or similar application or device with minimal or no manual entry of the contact-related information by the user. The system also allows contacts of the user to make corrections to their contact-related information contained in the user's address book, request reciprocal contact information from the user, deny the user access to additional or corrected contact-related information and take other actions relative to managing the contact-related information which others (users) have about them.

Abstract: A system, computer-implemented method, and a computer-readable storage medium for a data graph traversal are provided. The input parameters for traversing the data graph are received. The data graph having a set of vertices and a set of edges are stored in a column based format in a memory cache of a computer device based on the input parameters is traversed. The traversal generates a set of traversed vertices that are the result of the graph traversal.

Abstract: What is disclosed is a method of operating a volume access system. The method includes processing at least a first file to generate a file system view of the first file comprising a plurality of items within the first file, and providing the file system view of the first file over a network interface as a hierarchical data volume. The method also includes receiving an access request for a requested item of the hierarchical data volume over the network interface, and in response, providing access to a first item of the plurality of items within the first file corresponding to the requested item.

Abstract: A bulk data distribution system in which, instead of multiple data consumers contending to access the same data sets from a primary data store, one or more producers capture snapshots (states of the data sets at particular points in time) and upload the snapshots to an intermediate data store for access by snapshot consumers. The snapshot consumers may download the snapshots to generate local versions of the data sets for access by one or more data processing applications or processes. A snapshot producer may periodically generate full snapshots of a data set, and may generate one or more incremental snapshots of the data set between full snapshots. A snapshot consumer may bootstrap a local data set from a full snapshot and one or more incrementals, and may maintain state of the local data set by accessing new snapshots uploaded by the producer.

Abstract: A relay device includes a first storage unit, a second storage unit and a processor. The processor extracts a duplication pattern, which is an identical portion between data stored in the first storage unit in the past and data received currently. Also, the processor executes a process of storing the currently received data in the first storage unit and a process of associating an identifier with the extracted duplication pattern and storing the duplication pattern and the identifier in the second storage unit. Further, the processor edits data into edited data in which a duplication pattern included in the data has been replaced with the identifier associated with the duplication pattern when the data including a duplication pattern stored in the second storage unit has been received from a first device. Then, the processor transfers the edited data to a second device.

Abstract: A system that enables development and execution of predictive models comprises a centralized data management system, a data extraction tool a model validation tool and a model execution tool. In embodiments, a data management system includes a data management server that can be accessed via a web browser that stores data in the form of a flat file. An extraction tool extracts data. A model validation tool validates a model by scoring an analytical environment data set and a production environment data set. A model execution tool allows a user to select when and how often a model is scored.

Abstract: A method for correlating data stored in a database implements a web crawler element and an analyzer element to discover data correlations between a first set of data and a second set of data. The web crawler element searches online for a plurality of electronic files, and inspects said electronic files in order to determine a file type for each of the electronic files. A plurality of accepted files is marked for review; the accepted files being the electronic files having the file type being a data structure. Each of the accepted files is inspected for chronological tags, wherein a plurality of relatable files is stored in a database, each having chronological tags. The first set of data is then selected from the database to determine data correlations with the second set of data; the second set of data being uploaded by a user account or selected from the database.
