    Abstract: A connection system for a quantum computer that employs constant impedance connectors with attenuation or filtering components or both embedded therein or within an adaptor removably insertable within an adaptor housing for use in a cryogenically cooled quantum computer. The connection system provides a higher density of cables traversing through a hermetic sealed top plate, and which are accessible to chill blocks to reduce the thermal energy from the signal lines. Attenuators or filter circuits are embedded in the constant impedance connector housings, or provided in adaptors that connect on each end to form mating constant impedance connections, in order to reduce signal strength as the signal progresses through the cryogenic environment and to remove extraneous electrical signal noise.

The male plug is able to change from an unlocked position in which the male plug can be inserted into the female socket, to a locked position in which the male plug is fixed to the female socket and the second electrical connector cooperates with the first electrical connector. The quick connection device also includes an electrical conductor extending through the male plug. The second electrical connector includes structure arranged to bear the weight of the electrical device.

The connector shell provides an anti-decoupling mechanism to prevent decoupling of the connector shell from a socket type connector shell resulting from typical forces applied to the connector shell. The multi-axis backshell provides mechanisms to toollessly adjust the angle of the various components making up the backshell which in turn provides a specifically angled path for cables contained within the backshell.

The dielectric seal may be formed by a bismuth glass based dielectric sealing material system having at least two of the four components selected from Bi2O3, B2O3, MO, and optionally REO forming a bismuth glass system. MO may be selected from ZnO, BaO, TiO2, and Fe2O3, and their glass making pre-cursors. REO may be selected from CeO2, Y2O3, Sc2O3, Nd2O3, Pr2O3, and lanthanum series oxides. One or more isolators may be disposed within the shell conduit proximate to the dielectric seal and surrounding a portion of the conducting pin.
