  • Patent number: 5361527
Abstract: A device for use by hunters for the depositing of animal scent for the purpose of attracting game. The invention includes a rigid scent container releasably and sealably engagable with a temperature buffering scent reservoir. The present invention is suspendable above the ground whereby the scent reservoir depends below the scent container. The scent reservoir includes an attachment portion providing for the releasable and sealable engagement with the container, and a reservoir portion. The reservoir portion has an exterior surface defining an interior volume thereof. The scent reservoir also includes a conduit having a first end adjacent the attachment portion and secured thereto, and a second end terminating within the interior volume of the reservoir portion. The conduit provides for fluid communication of the liquid scent between the interior of the container and the scent reservoir portion. A scent releasing orifice extends through the surface of the reservoir portion above the second end of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 5356067
Abstract: An improved internal line up clamp (10) is disclosed which has an integral back up ring (12). A first set of pipe clamps (22) move radially outward to engage the inner surface of a first pipe (14). A second set of pipe clamps (62) and a set of back up ring segments (88) are simultaneously moved radially outward into engagement with the inner surface of the pipes. The back up ring segments (88) are spring loaded to exert a relatively constant back up force against the inner surface of the pipes at the weld. In a modification, a fill block (118) can be used to fill the gap between adjacent back up ring segments when engaging the inner surface of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 5353540
Abstract: A rotatable fishing lure which includes an elongate central member that is selectively engaged by a fish hook having a point and an eyelet formed at opposite ends such that a first part of the hook proximate the point is embedded in a lower end portion of the central member and a second part of the hook proximate the eyelet is embedded in an opposite upper end portion of the central member. One or more spiral arms are attached to and extend outwardly from the central member and are responsive to a pulling force exerted on a fishing line secured to the eyelet of the hook for causing the lure to rotate about an axis of the central member.

  • Patent number: 5351431
Abstract: An electronic float for fishing tackle in which when a fish bites a bait, a floater (1) moves up and down, causing a magnet (5) inside the hollow of the floater (1) to move, accordingly, up and down nearing or falling apart from a fixed magnet (3) below, thus the equilibrium of the magnet (5) is broken and inertial force is created for the magnet (5) in a vertical direction to keep its up and down motion, thereby to turn the switching means on or off. But, when the floater (1) is stirred by a wind or the waves, inertial force of the magnet (5) is kept negligible, and the magnet (5) hits against the side of wall of the hollow to get its vertical up-down move restrained, and the switching means (4) does not get turned on or off.

  • Patent number: 5347745
Abstract: A crab trap float has a hollow cylindrical center rope-receiving tube. A rope stop has a round cap and a tubular throat which fits down inside the float center tube. Circular ridge lips on the tubular throat hold it in the float. Rope grippers extend inward at the bottom of the tubular throat to tightly grip the rope as the tubular throat is pushed into the float. The inside of the smooth bore of the throat is grooved in a 4-leaf clover design for forming a gripper to hold the rope and to prevent the float from traveling along the rope. The rope is tied to the trap and is passed upward through the inside the float and through the tubular throat and its cap. Straightening the rope positions the float over the trap. A knot is tied on top of the cap. The top is jerked and the tubular throat of the gripper is forced down into the float, locking the rope in the gripper and the gripper in the float.

  • Patent number: 5348213
Abstract: There is provided a method for the manufacture of a welded tube having an enhanced inner wall. A fin insert shapes the edges of a metallic strip prior to welding and minimizes the formation of a weld bead inside the tube. The portion of the edge of the metallic strip adjacent the outer surface of the tube is formed to a first angle, while that portion of the edge adjacent an inner wall of the tube is formed to a second, lesser angle.

  • Patent number: 5347748
Abstract: A walk-through fly trap for cattle and similar livestock is provided with a steel tubular frame on which is provided a roof and sides of pressure treated lumber. The sides support panels bearing electric grates, which grates are accessible to flying insects on both the inside and outside of the trap. Insects are attracted to the grates by lights mounted proximal to the grates on the panel, the warmth associated therewith, and attractive colors of the panel. The grates may be electrified with sufficient voltage to explode flying insects on contact, so as to prevent accumulation of insects thereon.

  • Patent number: 5347743
Abstract: A guide for use on a fishing rod includes a guide ring placed in contact with an outer surface of a rod stock for guiding a fishing line, and a holder for fixing the guide ring to the rod stock. The guide is manufactured by placing the guide ring in contact with an outer surface of the rod stock, arranging dies to surround the guide ring and rod stock, and injecting a plastic inside the dies, thereby forming the holder from the plastic. As an alternative to the use of dies, prepreg may be wound in a way to fasten the guide ring to the rod stock, and baked to harden, thereby forming the holder.

  • Patent number: 5344063
Abstract: This invention relates to a process of forming components having selectively thickened regions from superplastically formable and diffusion bondable materials. The said selected thickening is achieved by positioning metal matrix composite plies between the interior surface of each of the formed skin sheets of the component and the sheets which will form the internal cells, superplastically forming the cells, and then diffusion bonding the component to form a metallurgically bonded structure.

  • Patent number: 5341591
Abstract: A trolling assembly, adapted to be connected to a fishing boat by a tow line so that the assembly is drawn behind the boat and laterally to the course of the boat allowing a plurality of trolling fishing lines from the boat to be connected to spaced points on the connecting lines, employs three substantially identical planer boards. Each board is an elongated, flat rectangular and has a central slot. A pair of extending arms are pivotally joined to the slots within each board so that arms may be positioned in extending position wherein the boards are parallel to one another and spaced from one another, or a collapsed position in which the arms lie substantially within the slots and the opposed surfaces of the three stacked boards abut one another.
