  • Patent number: 6346878
Abstract: An electronic apparatus for determining the distance between two objects has an interrogation signal generator for generating and transmitting an interrogation signal, and a response signal receiver. An evaluation unit is situated in one object, and interrogation signal reception means and response signal generation means in the other object. According to the invention, the evaluation unit is set up for determining a distance-indicative phase difference between the interrogation signal and the response signal. An electronic security system, such as a vehicle locking system of the keyless-go type, having a distance measurement of this type is also included.

  • Patent number: 5936524
Abstract: A method for determining malfunction of a microwave intrusion detector which transmits microwave radiation into a region and receives microwave radiation to produce a receiver signal, such that a detection pattern of microwave pulses is transmitted periodically during an intrusion detection mode, including initiating a self-test mode of the detector, transmitting during the self-test mode a test pattern comprising a plurality of microwave pulses having at least two different duty cycles, different from the detection pattern, receiving microwave radiation in the self-test mode and generating a receiver signal responsive thereto and analyzing the receiver signal to derive a parameter responsive to the test pattern, so as to determine a malfunction condition.

  • Patent number: 5767764
Abstract: There is provided a binary information display apparatus capable of generating all appearance/disappearance patterns of a plurality of corresponding braille pins, which binary information display apparatus is formed to be compact and has achieved improved response speed, a linear cam for the binary information display apparatus, and a method of generating shape patterns of the linear cam. Shape patterns determined by a predetermined shape pattern generation method are formed at pin interval L of the pins P1 to P4 on the top surface of a linear cam 5. When the linear cam 5 is moved at pin interval L in the direction of the arrow A, the appearance/disappearance pattern of the pins P1 to P4 on the display surface 1a changes, and all the appearance/disappearance patterns are generated with no duplication. That is, useless shape pattern is not present, and the total length of the linear cam 5 is shortened.
