  • Patent number: 10891928
Abstract: In accordance with implementations of the subject matter described herein, there is provided a solution for supporting a machine to automatically generate a song. In this solution, an input from a user is used to determine a creation intention of the user with respect to a song to be generated. Lyrics of the song are generated based on the creation intention. Then, a template for the song is generated based at least in part on the lyrics. The template indicates a melody matching with the lyrics. In this way, it is feasible to automatically create the melody and lyrics which not only conform to the creation intention of the user but also match with each other.

  • Patent number: 10878789
Abstract: Sequence predictors may be used to predict one or more entries in a musical sequence. The predicted entries in the musical sequence enable a virtual musician to continue playing a musical score based on the predicted entries when the occurrence of latency causes a first computing system hosting a first virtual musician to not receive entries or timing information for entries being performed in the musical sequence by a second computing system hosting a second virtual musician. The sequence predictors may be generated using a machine learning model generation system that uses historical performances of musical scores to generate the sequence predictor. Alternatively, or in addition, earlier portions of a musical score may be used to train the model generation system to obtain a prediction model that can predict later portions of the musical score.

  • Patent number: 10878790
Abstract: A device and method for an amplitude modulated optical pickup for a stringed instrument are disclosed. A first optical source comprising a first output signal comprising a first carrier frequency is provided and a first photodetector is in optical communication with the first optical source. A vibrating element such as a string on a musical instrument is disposed in an optical path between the first optical source and the first photodetector whereby a vibration of the element varies and modulates an amplitude of the first output signal received by the photodetector that is proportional to an element vibration amplitude and is at the same frequency as the element vibration frequency. An amplitude modulated (AM) photodetector signal output is generated from the first photodetector. The resultant signal is then demodulated with appropriate circuitry to produce a substantially noise free electronic signal representative of the element vibration frequency.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are computer-implemented method, computer-readable storage medium, and DAW embodiments for implementing a music composition aid. An embodiment includes retrieving a first constraint value, receiving a selection of a set of musical elements, and accepting a second constraint value corresponding to the set of musical elements. Some embodiments further include invoking an iterator function, using at least the second constraint value as an argument, and generating an output of the iterator function, limiting a size of the output of the iterator function, according to the lesser of the first constraint value or a transform of the second constraint value. Output of the iterator function may include, of the set of musical elements, a subset determined by the second constraint value. The size of the output may be no more than the first constraint value. Further embodiments may render the output of the iterator function visually and/or audibly, for example.
