Abstract: A solid pyrotechnic composition having a flame temperature and exhibiting ballistic performance comparable to that of black powder, but which does not contain charcoal or sulfur, is provided, as is a method for making such composition. A solid pyrotechnic composition, and method for making the same, which has a flame temperature and exhibits ballistic performance comparable to that of boron/potassium nitrate and that is preferably free of boron is also provided.

Abstract: Planting pots and a multi-compartment tray are provided, the pots and tray having a self-orienting configuration for urging the pots into proper alignment when same are placed within compartments of the tray. The pots include angled recesses disposed radially about the bottom portion of the pots. The compartments of the tray include angled protrusions disposed radially about the bottom portion of the compartment. The angled recesses of the pot engage with the angled protrusions of the compartment when the pot is placed in the compartment to urge the pot into proper alignment. A plurality of slots are included along an upper portion of each pot for allowing optional identification tags to be inserted thereinto. The identification tags, in addition to logos, artwork, or other indicia, if included, are positioned by the self-orienting configuration of the pots and tray to face in a desired direction.

Abstract: Surfaces and methods for producing surfaces that may support an artificial playing surface are disclosed herein. An example of a surface according to the invention includes a first layer with soil and a plurality of fibers, and a second layer with soil and an organic binder. At least a portion of the second layer is above the first layer. Both layers should be water permeable to some degree. The organic binder may include material from plants of one or more of the plantago family (such as dried and ground plantago husk) and/or guar family.

Abstract: A flower mounting assembly for a headstone includes a block that has a top side, a bottom side, a first end, a second end, a first lateral side, a second lateral side. Each of a plurality of hook members is extended into the block. A plurality of discs is provided. Each of a plurality of fasteners is attached to one of the discs for securing a respective one of the discs to a front side, back side or top edge of a headstone. Each of a plurality of clasps is attached to one of the discs. Each of a plurality of bands is attached to and extended between one of the hook members and one of the clasps so that the bottom side of the block is abutted against and secured to the headstone. A plurality of flowers is extended into said top side of said block.

Abstract: A support rack is interposed between a first open top container and a second open top container for supporting the second open top container within the first open top container. The support rack includes a base underlying a bottom wall of the second open top container and having a central region and a periphery, and a series of spaced apart support structures joined to the base. Each support structure is provided with a first portion connected to the base and extending along the base from a central region to beyond a periphery. The first portion supports the bottom wall of the second open top container. A second portion diverges upwardly and outwardly from the first portion and a third portion is secured to and extends outwardly from the second portion. The third portion defines a handle supported upon and extended outwardly of the upper edge of the first open top container. The handle is adapted to be easily grasped by one's entire hand.

Abstract: The present invention provides improved methods of injecting an avian egg containing an embryo, preferably an early embryo (e.g., a blastoderm). The methods of the invention may be used to deliver a substance to an egg, remove a sample from an egg, and/or to insert a detector device into an egg to collect information therefrom. In preferred embodiments, the invention is used to deliver a substance to the embryo in ovo. In other preferred embodiments, the invention is used to produce chimeric or transgenic avian embryos in ovo.

Abstract: A greenhouse has an exterior curtain wall structure formed by spaced tubular posts carrying external transparent panels and bottom non-transparent wall panels below a sill with the panels spanning the posts. A plurality of elongate benches is located within the interior at spaced positions along one side wall with the width of the benches being equal to the post spacing to form a modular construction. Each bench has associated with it a respective air handling system for conditioning including a duct which is located partly under the respective bench and a fan in a fan housing at the side wall. From the fan a vertical duct section extends to a flexible tube extending over the bench. An alley is arranged along the opposite wall containing electrical controls mounted in cabinets forming panels for mounting in the span between posts. Air dehumidification, fogging, heating and cooling are provided in the duct under the bench.

Abstract: A method of attaching an end seal to a manufactured seed is provided. The method includes providing a manufactured seed having an open end and inflating a sealing material to form an enclosure having an interior surface. The method also includes placing the enclosure into contact with the open end of the manufactured seed and attaching the enclosure to the manufactured seed to seal the open end of the manufactured seed.

Abstract: A system and method for mixing and delivering fluids such as contrast media and saline is disclosed including at least two fluid sources, a pump, a joining fluid path for connecting the at least two fluid sources to an inlet to of the pump, and a valve device in the fluid path upstream of the pump. The valve device includes an actuator adapted to restrict flow in at least one of the respective fluid lines connecting the at least two fluid sources to the pump inlet. A patient interface device may be associated with an outlet of the pump. The valve device actuator is generally adapted to restrict the flow in at least one of the respective fluid lines such that a positional change in valve device actuator position provides a change in fluid mixture ratio of the fluids from the at least two fluid sources to the pump inlet.

Abstract: A power tool that includes a housing, a motor, a planetary transmission, a first bearing and a second bearing. The motor is disposed in the housing and includes an output shaft. The planetary transmission has a sun gear, a plurality of first planet gears, a first ring gear and a carrier. The sun gear is driven by the output shaft. The first planet gears are driven by the sun gear and have teeth that are meshingly engaged to teeth of the first ring gear. The carrier includes a rear carrier plate and a front carrier plate between which the first and second planet gears are received. The rear carrier plate includes a first bearing aperture. The first bearing is received in the first bearing aperture and is configured to support the output shaft. The second bearing is received onto the rear carrier plate to support the carrier relative to the housing.

Abstract: A movable reconfigurable wall system having at least one module having a front and rear surface, the at least one module having: vertical end frames disposed at least at its side edges, each the vertical end frame having a vertically extending flange directed toward the front surface and a vertically extending flange directed toward the rear surface; a plurality of horizontal stringers affixed between the pair of vertical end frames; and an aesthetic surface affixed to the stringers; and a removable connecting strip, the connecting strip adapted to affix about one of the two flanges on one of the vertical end frames and join the one of the two flanges to a corresponding flange on one of a second module, a wall bracket, a finishing trim or a connection post.

Abstract: A device or tool setter has the purpose of setting the position of a support bar, adjustably connected to a grinding machine, in relation to a rotatable grindstone of the machine for obtaining a desired edge angle of a tool supported for grinding by the support bar. The device is provided with discs for defining two contact points with the grindstone and a hole for connection to the support bar.

Abstract: A method apparatus for teat dipping for sanitizing the udder of a cow either before or after milking. The apparatus has an extension arm with a dispersion portion so that when a cow is in a cleaning location the extension arm will extend underneath a cow's udder and dispersed cleaning fluid onto the cow's udder. A sensing system is used that detects the rotation of the parlor to determine if a cow is at a cleaning location. Further, the sensing system detects whether a cow is present in a stall of the rotary milking parlor.

Abstract: A liquid sample bulk mailing packaging device includes a paperboard envelope blank assembled to form a hermetically sealed leakproof containment pocket such that a moisture resistant coating on at least one of the paperboard surfaces will prevent leakage in the event an enclosed liquid containing packette fails during mail processing, while if uncoated the other paperboard surface will absorb the moisture from the packette. The device meets the US Postal Service requirements for machinable and automation letters.

Abstract: A container constructed and arranged to be connected to at least one other container. The container has a container portion, a cover, and a latch member movable between a first position and a second position. A retaining member on the container portion is engageable with the latch member. In the first position, the latch member engages the retaining member to inhibit movement of the latch member away from the first position. In the second position, the latch member is engageable with a container portion of the other container to connect the containers. The latch member is pivotally movable in a clockwise and counterclockwise manner. The latch member can be pivoted upwards to the second position to engage the other container and the latch member can be pivoted downwards to the first position to engage the retaining member to inhibit movement of the latch member away from the first position.

Abstract: A liftgate for loading and unloading cargo from a vehicle. The liftgate includes a moveable load platform having a proximal deck section and a distal deck section pivotally coupled to the proximal deck section. A side ramp is pivotally coupled to the distal deck section to facilitate unobstructed side loading and unloading of the distal deck section of the load platform.

Abstract: An apparatus and associated methodology for holstering a gun. A holster has a longitudinally-extending sidewall terminating at a gun entry edge. The sidewall has an inner surface defining a cavity that is sized for slidingly inserting the gun to a mating engagement of the gun in the holster at a holstered position of the gun. The sidewall supports a holster trigger guard terminating adjacent the gun entry edge. The holster trigger guard extends from the sidewall and adjacent the cavity so that a holster trigger guard surface operably impacts against the user's finger at an acute angle, so that a force from the impact has a proximal force directed away from the tip of the user's finger. A concealment block is removably attachable to the sidewall at a selected one of a plurality of different attachable positions to be operably interposed between a user's body and the holster to urge a selected portion of the holster away from the user's body.

Abstract: The training system comprises a base assembly, an upright extension, a chin support member, and a putter. In use, the training system positions the user's overall-body prior to and throughout the execution of a putt, and teaches proper putting technique, thus improving the user's putting accuracy. The chin support engages the chin of the user, preventing movement of the user's head.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing a knockout region from a saw blade includes an elongate body having a center axis. A distal end of the elongate body can include a head, having a concave region, wherein the concave region has a fulcrum section. A slot includes a first surface and a second surface opposite the second surface. The first surface and the second surface preferably are separated be a width greater than the thickness of the saw blade. The slot is positioned rearward of the concave region and is angled at a substantially acute angle relative to the center axis. The concave region is sized and shaped such that the fulcrum section contacts a first face of the saw blade and the slot is sized and shaped such that the first surface of the slot contacts a second face of the saw blade. Preferably, the fulcrum region engages the first region and the slot engages the second portion at the same time.
