Abstract: The present invention relates to new impact modifiers and a process for making these new impact modifiers and their use in polymeric compositions. More particularly the present invention relates to a new polymeric impact modifier with a core-shell structure made by a multistage polymerization process comprising at least one gradient polymer. The present invention relates as well to a process preparing such an impact modifier, especially its recovery process after the end of the polymerization. The present invention also relates to a thermoplastic composition comprising the new impact modifier.

Abstract: A vibration damper of the invention is formed from a polymer composition including (a) 100 parts by weight of a block copolymer including a polymer segment mainly derived from a vinyl aromatic compound and a polymer segment mainly derived from a conjugated diene compound, or a hydrogenated product of the copolymer, (b) 30 to 200 parts by weight of an ethylene.?-olefin copolymer having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 300 to 5000 mm2/s and an ethylene structural unit content of 30 to 80 mol %, and (c) 0 to 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin having a MFR of 0.1 to 500 g/10 min. According to the present invention, vibration dampers are provided which exhibit excellent vibration damping properties and transparency and show excellent weather resistance with little discoloration, and polymer compositions are provided which are suited for the production of vibration dampers having excellent vibration damping properties and weather resistance.
Abstract: Click reactions may be used to bond polymers to lignin by taking advantage of lignin's terminal hydroxyl and thiol groups via an alkyne-azide click reaction or a thiol-alkene or thiol-alkyne click reaction. By selecting functional polymers, these methods may be used to synthesize lignin-containing polymer materials with an array of different properties, such as self-healing polymers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a weather resistant reinforced acrylate based resin. More specifically, an activator-free conversion rate improver is included in an acrylate-styrene based graft copolymer, thereby improving the haze value, light transmittance, and yellow index when mixed with an acrylate-styrene based non-graft copolymer, and securing the weather resistance. In particular, according to the present invention, a weather resistant reinforced thermoplastic resin having excellent colors which are close to natural colors can be provided even without using sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate (SFS) and iron ions.

Abstract: Provided is a cyclic olefin resin composition film having a small in-plane retardation and high toughness. The cyclic olefin resin composition film contains a cyclic olefin resin and a styrene elastomer having a storage modulus of lower than 100 MPa at 0° C. to 100° C. The styrene elastomer is dispersed in the cyclic olefin resin in an amount of 5 to 35 wt %. With this configuration, it is possible to lower the in-plane retardation of the film while ensuring the high toughness of the film.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing a rubber-reinforced graft copolymer and a rubber-reinforced graft copolymer prepared using the method.
