Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring the quality of a surface treatment applied to an article in a manufacturing process are provided. A surface treatment may be applied to at least a portion of an article. A thermal profile of the article may be obtained and used to determine temperature indications of different regions of the article to which the surface treatment has been applied. A standard model of the article may be obtained that includes model regions having model temperature ranges. The temperature indications of the article can be compared with the model temperature ranges to determine if any temperature indications are outside of a corresponding model temperature range. The article may be a shoe part. The surface treatments may include the application of heat, plasma, dye, paint, primer, and/or the application of other materials, substances, and/or processes.

Abstract: An accelerated aging circuit is described to shorten the required stress time to a few seconds of operation. Due to the challenges posed by process variation in advanced CMOS technology, a stochastic processing methodology is also described to reduce the failure rate of the tracking and detection. Combining both circuit and system level acceleration, the creation of a silicon marker can be realized within seconds of usage in contrast with days of operation from previously reported aging monitor.

Abstract: A flow measurement device includes a flow sensor that senses a flow rate of a measurement target fluid flowing through a main channel, a characteristic-value obtaining unit that includes a heater heating the target fluid and a temperature sensor sensing a temperature of the target fluid, and obtains a characteristic value of the target fluid, and a flow rate correction unit that corrects a flow rate of the target fluid calculated based on a sensing signal from the flow sensor using the characteristic value of the target fluid obtained by the characteristic-value obtaining unit. The heater and the temperature sensor are arranged parallel to each other in a direction orthogonal to a flow direction of the target fluid. The characteristic-value obtaining unit obtains the characteristic value based on a difference between the temperatures of the target fluid sensed by the temperature sensor before and after the heater temperature is changed.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for management of information, including environmental information, obtained by a variety of sensors associated with one or more distributed mobile sensor platforms. In certain embodiments, the geographically transitory nature of a mobile sensor platform may be leveraged to facilitate collection of environmental information over a larger geographic area than that of a fixed sensor platform. Embodiments disclosed herein provide for information consistency and/or quality checking of information obtained by mobile sensor platforms. Further embodiments may be used to incentivize the collection and/or acquisition of certain data via point and/or credit based compensation.
Abstract: A system and method is provided that determines at least one bottomhole condition during flowback operations in a well that traverses a hydraulically fractured reservoir. The system and method measure fluid properties of fluids produced at a surface-location of the well during the flowback operations. A transient fluid flow simulator determines composition and properties of fluids in the well between the surface-location of the well and at least one bottomhole-location of the well based on the measured fluid properties. At least one bottomhole condition in the well is determined based on the composition and properties of fluids in the well between the surface-location and at least one bottomhole-location of the well.

Abstract: A method for determining lithium battery passivation starts by applying a load across a lithium battery at the start of a test interval. Measurements of the battery's voltage are taken after applying the load, and then again periodically during the test interval. A final measurement of the battery's voltage at the end of the test interval. The state of the battery is then determined based on the first and final measurements, and at least one of the periodic measurements.

Abstract: A gas analysis apparatus includes a calibration curve data storage section designed to store N types of calibration curve data which are previously created for N types of measurement target components and obtained by correcting influences of other N?1 types of measurement target components with respect to a concentration of each of the measurement target components, and a concentration calculation section designed to calculate a concentration of each of the measurement target components by using the N types of calibration curve data. When there exists a subthreshold component whose concentration calculated by the concentration calculation section is not more than a predetermined threshold value, the concentration calculation section calculates a concentration of each of the measurement target components other than the subthreshold component by using calibration curve data obtained without correcting an influence of the subthreshold component.
Abstract: Provided are methods for drilling a well having a wellbore that extends into the earth and that encounters a salt layer. Such methods include determinations of subsurface salt mobility and salt balance load mud weight and the performance of salt mobility tests to determine salt creep and wellbore enlargement problems. A salt formation may be determined from well log data and a drilling rate. The presence of salt creep may be determined from torque generated by the drilling assembly and a hook load. The initial mud weight of a drilling fluid may be adjusted to a salt balance load mud weight (SBLMW) to mitigate or prevent salt creep during drilling.
