  • Patent number: 10319313
Abstract: Video displays using relatively low frame rates of about 10 to about 20 frames per second, but having acceptable video quality are described. The displays may use bistable media, and may be driven such that the medium, when driven, changes its optical properties continuously during the driving of each frame. The displays may use an electro-optic medium such that the frame period is from about 50 to about 200 per cent of the switching time of the electro-optic medium at the driving voltage used.

  • Patent number: 9524069
Abstract: A capacitive touch keypad may receive a touch by a conductive object to one or more keys of the keypad, in which the keys each have a separate capacitive key electrode. The touched locations may be determined by precharging a pseudo-randomly selected set of key electrodes a number (M) of iterations while the keyboard is being touched, producing a sense voltage for each iteration by coupling all of the key electrodes to a reference capacitor, producing a 1-bit sense measurement for each iteration by comparing the sense voltage to a reference voltage to form a set of M 1-bit sense measurement, and by applying a modified binary iterative hard threshold (BIHT) algorithm to the set of M 1-bit sense measurements, in which only the non-zero locations of the solution are monitored in each iteration.

  • Patent number: 9377883
Abstract: A touch sensing method for a touch screen including an image display device with a touch-sensitive screen. The method includes a filtering process that includes calculating an output signal of an nth frame from a sensing signal of the nth frame output from a touch sensing unit configured to sense touches of the touch-sensitive screen, the calculating using an equation F(n)=I(n)×W(n)+F(n?1)×[1?W(n)], wherein F(n) represents the output signal of the nth frame, I(n) represents the sensing signal of the nth frame, F(n?1) represents an output signal of an (n?1)th frame, and W(n) represents a filtering coefficient; and outputting the output signal of the nth frame to an output end. The filtering coefficient is calculated by an equation W ? ( n ) = ? I ? ( n ) - F ? ( n - 1 ) ? R , wherein R is a scale constant. The touch sensing method has high touch sensitivity in an environment with heavy noise while being capable of correctly detecting touch coordinates.
