  • Patent number: 10321335
Abstract: A method and user equipment (UE) are provided for switching to dual connectivity in carrier aggregation. The UE applies configuration information to a second cell which is configured by a first cell for a carrier aggregation, and receives, from a base station, a message including a request for switching the second cell from the carrier aggregation to dual connectivity. The UE performs a procedure for the switching of the second cell from the carrier aggregation to the dual connectivity. The second cell becomes a primary secondary cell or a secondary cell of a secondary cell group (SCG). The UE transmits a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) to the primary secondary cell or the secondary cell of the SCG after the switching of the second cell from the carrier aggregation to the dual connectivity.

  • Patent number: 10251197
Abstract: Uplink control information may not be transmitted if a CCA of the unlicensed SCC fails. Thus, the present disclosure provide a solution in which uplink control information for an unlicensed SCC may still be transmitted when a CCA of the unlicensed SCC fails. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus generates uplink control information. The apparatus also attempts to perform a CCA of a carrier for an uplink burst. In addition, the apparatus determines a failure of the CCA. In addition, the apparatus performs one of the following when it is determined that the CCA has failed: transmitting the PUCCH transmission on the carrier in a later subframe of the uplink burst, transmitting the PUCCH transmission on the carrier in a different uplink burst, or transmitting the PUCCH transmission on a different carrier.

  • Patent number: 10244444
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive data from both a source base station and a target base station during handover. For example, the UE may refrain from resetting or reestablishing media access control (MAC) and packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer configurations until after a successful access procedure is performed with the target base station. In some cases, a single radio link control (RLC)/PDCP stack may be used during handover procedures. A source base station may, for example, forward data to a target base station after receiving a handover execution message. A UE may identify and resolve any duplicate data sent by both base stations during the transition. Additional signaling may be used (e.g., during the radio resource control (RRC) configuration) to indicate that a UE supports dual link handover.

  • Patent number: 10218425
Abstract: A base station receives from wireless device configuration parameters of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of timing advance groups (TAGs). The plurality of cells comprises a primary cell with a primary physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), and a PUCCH secondary cell with a secondary PUCCH. The base station receives an activation command indicating activation of the PUCCH secondary cell. The base station receives a timing advance command (TAC) for the first TAG. The base station starts transmission of valid channel state information (CSI) via the PUCCH secondary cell in a second subframe occurring a first quantity of subframes after the first subframe. The first quantity of subframes is greater than eight, and is based on a delay from receiving the activation command until the wireless device applies the TAC to uplink transmissions via the first TAG.
