  • Patent number: 7824376
Abstract: An injection needle apparatus in which an operation for relatively moving an outer tube 4 and an inner tube 5 is performed to project and retract a needle body 12 from and into a distal end of the outer tube 4, and to carry out a movement of rotation of the needle body 12 at a predetermined angle by relative forward and backward movements of the outer tube 4 and inner tube 5 in their longitudinal directions every time the forward and backward movement operations is repeated, thereby enabling changing a direction of a needlepoint 14 of the needle body 12 at each angle.

  • Patent number: 7766879
Abstract: A needle assembly includes a transparent or translucent housing with a fluid inlet end, a fluid outlet end, a flashback chamber, and a venting mechanism therebetween. Substantially axially aligned inlet and outlet cannulas extend from the housing and communicate with the chamber. A sealable sleeve covers the external end of the outlet cannula. Relative volumes of the cannulas, the chamber, and the sleeve are selected to provide rapid reliable flashback indicative of venous entry with an internal vent positioned within the housing so as to divide the interior into first and second chambers, with the second chamber being adapted to maintain a negative pressure therein relative to the external environment so as to inhibit leakage of blood from the needle on withdrawal from the patient.

  • Patent number: 7766874
Abstract: A catheter head for medical and therapeutic applications including a catheter head housing, a cannula which protrudes from the catheter head and is to be introduced into organic tissue, a container connection for connecting a container containing a fluid to be administered, a fluid channel through which the fluid flows during the administration thereof, an injection needle connection for connecting an injection needle, a connection chamber which is adjacent to the cannula, the injection needle connection, and the fluid channel, and a connector that is arranged in a first position such that the injection needle can be guided from the injection needle connection into the connection chamber and then into the cannula, and in a second position such that it closes the connection chamber from the injection needle connection in a sealing manner after the injection needle has been removed.

  • Patent number: 7744618
Abstract: Renal function may be modulated by an implantable device having one or more leads or catheters disposed near the kidney via the lymphatic system. In one embodiment, lymphatic drainage from the kidney is modulated to increase or decrease tubular reabsorption of salt and water. The renal function modulation therapy may be delivered in an open-loop or closed-loop fashion, with the latter dependent upon a physiological variable such as blood pressure or cardiac output.

  • Patent number: 7744561
Abstract: A needleless injection device comprising a cylinder for medicine having an injection nozzle at a forward end thereof and an opening at its rearward end; a piston sliding in the cylinder through said open end, in use, to drive the medicine through the nozzle; a ram to drive the piston into the cylinder and having a longitudinal axis; and a mechanical energy accumulator to drive the ram when discharged and disposed between the ram and a discharge assembly, a rear end of the ram extending into said discharge assembly; wherein the discharge assembly comprises a retention member fixed in the assembly, said retention member having a plurality of retention elements spaced around and adapted to locate on the ram when in a charged position of the ram, and a release ring surrounding said retention elements to prevent radial outward displacement thereof and discharge of the ram; and wherein axial displacement of said release ring releases said retention elements and causes discharge of the ram by said accumulator; chara
