Abstract: A printing press control device and a cut-off register control device forcibly move a compensator roller by a set moving amount each time a set time elapses during a period from the start of speed acceleration to the end of speed acceleration.
Abstract: A linkage mechanism for a wet shaving razor is provided. The linkage mechanism is pivotally connected to and suspended from the handle at one end and pivotally and removably attached to the cartridge carrier at an opposite end allowing the cartridge carrier to pivot about a virtual pivot axis located below the shaving plane and into the skin. The linkage mechanism provides flexibility in positioning the virtual pivot axis since it is not limited to the physical constraints of the cartridge. As a result, the shaving razor cartridge has a flatter contact with the skin throughout the shaving stroke providing shaving comfort with reduced nicks and cuts.

Abstract: A miter saw including: a base section; a saw blade; a cutting section; a support section; and a guiding mechanism. The support section includes a pivot support portion and a slide support portion. The pivot support portion supports the cutting section such that the cutting section is pivotally moved toward and away from the base section. The slide support portion slidably supports the pivot support portion to move the cutting section in a sliding direction that is in parallel with an upper surface of the base section and orthogonal to an axial direction of a rotational axis of the saw blade. The guiding mechanism is configured to guide a movement of the cutting section in the sliding direction in accordance with a pivotal movement of the cutting section toward the base section. The guiding mechanism is provided in association with the cutting section and the slide support portion.
Abstract: A knife is provided. The knife comprises a handle and a blade configured to pivot with respect to the handle between an open position wherein a cutting edge of the blade is exposed and a closed position wherein the cutting edge of the blade is disposed within the handle, the blade including an abutting surface. The knife may further comprise a locking assembly configured to releasably lock the blade in the open position, the locking assembly comprising a biased, rotatable member having a canted surface for engaging a corresponding surface on the blade, wherein the canted surface and the corresponding surface are configured to secure the blade relative to the handle in the open position.
Abstract: A cutting tool includes a first and a second element having a handle in a first end and a cutting element in a second end. A spring element is arranged between the first and second element to move the handles away from each other, and an adjustment mechanism sets a maximum opening angle for the handles. The adjustment mechanism includes a groove in a side surface of the first element, an adjustment ring is arranged to a side surface of the second element, and a shaft which is rotatably arranged to protrude through a hole in the second element, a first end of the shaft engaging the engagement surface of the adjustment ring and a second end of the shaft having an eccentric part protruding into the groove in the first element.
Abstract: Tools with a thermo-mechanically modified working region and methods of forming such tools. The tool includes a working region containing steel altered by a thermo-mechanical process to contain modified carbide and/or alloy bands. In use, a surface of the working region contacts a workpiece when the tool is used to perform a metal-forming operation.

Abstract: An electric shaver includes: a main body; an outer blade provided to an end of the main body and having a blade hole defined by a bar; and an inner blade provided inward of the outer blade and configured to reciprocate in a longitudinal direction of the outer blade to cut hair in the blade hole with the outer blade. The bar has a hair raising portion coming in contact with hair upon movement of the outer blade on a skin surface to raise hair up from the skin surface. A contact pressure on the skin surface to be exerted by the outer blade in a first portion of the outer blade is greater than that in a second portion of the outer blade. Hair raising performance in raising hair up from the skin surface in the first portion is smaller than hair raising performance in the second portion.
Abstract: A band saw machine with a rod having an adjustable position to accommodate various sized workpieces includes a movable member which is mounted on a saw frame and movable relative to a movable clamp arm. The movable member and the fixing member each have a rack, and the racks are in parallel to each other. The rod includes a gear shaft engaged with the racks. When the movable clamp arm moves to accommodate the size of a workpiece, the rack of the movable member drives the gear shaft to move along the rack of the fixing member, which causes position change of the rod, so that the rod is automatically moved to a position where it can detect the workpiece in a reliable manner. Therefore, the size of the workpiece to be clamped is not limited by the position of the rod anymore.
Abstract: A lifting rod assembly with a coolant supply and pressurizing device includes a pipe with an inner passage. The inner passage includes an open input end, an open output end, and an input section and an output section sequentially arranged from the open input end toward the open output end. The output section is in communication with the output end. In the inner passage is movably disposed a slider which is provided with a plurality of pressure flutes, each of the pressure flutes has a diameter smaller than the diameter of the input section, and both ends of the slider are provided with a plurality of buffers, a band saw of a band saw machine is allowed to insert in the output end of the lifting rod assembly, and the slider is abutted against the band saw.
Abstract: Methods of fly-cutting a workpiece are disclosed, and in methods in which the position of a fly-cutting head or its associated cutting element is known as a function of time. Also disclosed are methods of forming features, such as grooves or groove segments, in a workpiece such as a cylindrical roll. The features may be provided according to one or more disclosed patterns. Articles made using tools machined in the manner described are also provided, such as polymeric film or sheeting that exhibit certain beneficial properties.
