    Abstract: In a drift advancing machine cutting rolls are rotatably supported on a centrally arranged pivoted arm. Each cutting roll has a separate drive, each of which comprises a drive motor, a drive shaft and a driven shaft being driven via a bevel gear gearing. The drive shaft is a hollow shaft, within which is accommodated the second drive shaft.
