Abstract: A blood pump actuator to generate a driving force for driving a blood pump is disclosed. The blood pump actuator includes: a motor unit having a stator and a rotor, and rotating to generate a rotating force; a cam unit to convert the rotating motion of the motor unit into a rectilinear reciprocating motion; and a bellows unit having a bellows, which is expandable and contractible and contains a fluid therein, and an upper bellows plate and a lower bellows plate respectively attached to the upper and lower ends of the bellows, wherein the lower bellows plate moves upwards and downwards in a vertical direction according to the rectilinear reciprocating motion of the cam unit engaging with the lower bellows plate, and the bellows repeatedly expands and contracts according to the vertical movement of the lower bellows plate.

Abstract: A cardiac rhythm management system for securing a cardiac lead within a patient's heart is provided. According to the present invention, the cardiac rhythm management system includes a fixation helix for securing and stabilizing the lead at a target location in a patient's heart. The fixation helix is adapted to extend from a first position disposed over the electrode to a second position located distally to the distal end of the cardiac lead.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for treating cardiac arrhythmias are provided. An interval between first and second consecutive beats of a heart, having first and second chamber types, is determined. The heart is paced at a first rate if the first beat is from the first chamber type and the second beat is from the second chamber type and the interval is less than a predetermined amount of time or if the first and second beats are both from the second chamber type. The heart is paced at a second rate if the first beat is from the first chamber type and the second beat is from the second chamber type and the interval is more than the predetermined amount of time.

Abstract: A biventricular heart stimulator is adapted to optimize an interventricular delay interval duration by minimizing a mechanical asynchrony between right and left ventricle. Mechanical asynchrony between right and left ventricle is determined by measuring right ventricular and left ventricular intracardiac impedance or conductivity.
Abstract: An implantable electrode device, particularly a cardiological electrode device, comprises an oblong, hose-like electrode body and a helical screw-in electrode, which is displaceable on the distal end of the electrode body between a retracted passive position inside the electrode body and an extended, active fixing position outside the electrode body, which is displaceable by a rotational movement of its electrode line, with the aid of a spindle-type cam controller, between the retracted passive position and the extended fixing position. The cam controller is formed by a separate cam coil, which is fixedly mounted in the electrode body and coaxially to the electrode supply line and, in addition, by a cam body, which is mounted on the electrode supply line rotationally fixed thereto and engages in the cam coil.
Abstract: A medical electrode device has a purely mechanical contact connection between electrode and electrical line. For this purpose, a support sleeve is seated in the electrode body, on which the line section to be contacted is wound in a state without its insulation removed. The electrode is placed thereon while enclosing this line section, an internal thread having a cutting zone on the interior of the electrode breaking through the line insulation and being in electrical contact with the electrically conductive core of the electrical line.
