  • Patent number: 11429401
Abstract: Techniques for detecting interactions with a utility meter. In an example, a method transitions from a locked user input state into an unlocked user input state. While in the unlocked user input state, the method performs operations, including displaying, on a display of the utility meter, a menu that includes objects. The operations further include receiving, from an accelerometer, an acceleration measurement that represents three-dimensional movement. The operations further include comparing the acceleration measurement to an expected user input. The expected user input is associated with an interaction with a selected surface of the utility meter and is based on the displayed menu. The operations can further include when the acceleration measurement corresponds to the expected user input, updating the displayed menu to indicate a user selection of a selected object on the displayed menu and updating the display by navigating the menu to indicate the selected object.

  • Patent number: 11386318
Abstract: Roughly described, the technology disclosed provides a so-called machine learned conversion optimization (MLCO) system that uses evolutionary computations to efficiently identify most successful webpage designs in a search space without testing all possible webpage designs in the search space. The search space is defined based on webpage designs provided by marketers. Website funnels with a single webpage or multiple webpages are represented as genomes. Genomes identify different dimensions and dimension values of the funnels. The genomes are subjected to evolutionary operations like initialization, testing, competition, and procreation to identify parent genomes that perform well and offspring genomes that are likely to perform well. Each webpage is tested only to the extent that it is possible to decide whether it is promising, i.e., whether it should serve as a parent for the next generation, or should be discarded.

  • Patent number: 11360656
Abstract: Systems and methods for amplifying the intelligence of networked human populations, maximizing the accuracy of collaborative forecasts and group insights. This includes systems and methods for sending and presenting a forecasting query for a future event to a plurality of participants, each using a networked computing device, the forecasting query describing a future event to be collaboratively predicted by the population of human participants. An initial forecast response is collected from each participant and analyzed by a central server. A plurality of unique overlapping subsets of responses are determined by the server. Unique overlapping subsets of unique initial forecast responses are then displayed, at substantially the same time, on each computing device. A second forecast response is collected from each participant and a final forecast is determined.

  • Patent number: 11360655
Abstract: Systems and methods for amplifying the collective intelligence of networked human groups engaged in collaborative forecasting of future events having two possible outcomes. During a real-time session a computing device for each user displays a forecasting prompt and a dynamic user interface which includes a user-manipulatable marker moved by the user between a first limit and a second limit, where the position of the marker defines a forecasted probability of each possible outcome. The display also includes a first reward value and a second reward value, both of which are interactively responsive to the marker position. During a first time period, users manipulate the markers. After the first time period, a perturbation stimulus is displayed. During a second time period, users again manipulate the markers. After the second time period, a final group forecast is calculated based on the data collected during the first and second time periods.

  • Patent number: 11327774
Abstract: A method for personalizing resource strings within a user interface of a computing device. The method includes accessing a personalization editor via the computing device, and receiving a user modification to a resource string associated with one or more applications. The method also includes storing an original unmodified resource string associated with the resource string, the modified resource string, and the associated applications. The method also includes receiving a request from a first application for a first resource string associated with a specified resource identifier. The method also includes determining if the first resource string has an associated modified resource string stored in the personalized resource string database, and displaying the modified resource string based on the first resource string being determined to be associated with the modified resource string stored in the personalized resource string database.

  • Patent number: 11308109
Abstract: According to a present invention embodiment, items are transferred between source and destination nodes. A search is performed for one or more source nodes and one or more destination nodes based on search criteria. Graphical representations of the source and destination nodes resulting from the search are generated and presented on a user interface. A graphical connector is manipulated to connect a first quantity of source nodes to a second quantity of destination nodes on the user interface, wherein at least one from a group of the first quantity and the second quantity represent a plurality of nodes from the user interface. One or more items are transferred from the first quantity of source nodes to the second quantity of destination nodes based on connections indicated by the graphical connector.

  • Patent number: 11301273
Abstract: A method for aggregating information whereby a user input provided to an input area within a graphical user interface is analyzed to determine an external application corresponding to a content portion of the user input. Analyzed content portions of the user input are used as an element in a search within the determined external application. As a result of the search within the determined external application, external content is obtained. The obtained external content is then categorized and organized into application portals displayed within the graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 11269480
Abstract: A technique for controlling objects includes a handheld controller that provides output for generating a virtual ray. The virtual ray has a location and a direction. The location of the virtual ray is measured as a location of the handheld controller, based on input from sensors in the surrounding space. As a user moves and/or rotates the handheld controller, the virtual ray sweeps through space, intersecting various objects. When the virtual ray intersects with the location of a controllable object whose identity and location are known, the handheld controller identifies the object and accepts remote-control input from the user for controlling that object. Using the handheld controller, the user may control any controllable object having a known identity and location in space, and may control virtual as well as physical objects.

  • Patent number: 11262979
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory and a hardware processor. The processor receives a voice signal associated with an element of a website. Navigating to the element includes performing a user interaction with a browser configured to display the website. In response to receiving the voice signal, the processor converts the voice signal to an input command that simulates the user interaction and executes the input command. The processor then monitors a behavior of the browser and applies a machine learning algorithm to the behavior to determine whether the website is compliant with a set of rules. The machine learning algorithm determines whether the website is compliant based at least in part on the voice signal and the browser behavior. In response to determining that the website is not compliant with the set of rules, the processor records a violation in an error log.
