Abstract: A framed storm window construction having a relatively thick, impact and penetration resistant panel surrounded by a frame for mounting either over or within an opening formed in a wall. The peripheral edges of the panel fit within interior channels formed in the frame members. The frame members each have exterior channels on its exterior peripheral edges which define outwardly opening channels. Connector members having tongue portions fitted and held within said channels extend outwardly of the channels and terminate in connector strip flanges which are adapted to be secured, by mechanical fasteners, to the edge portions defining a window opening in a building wall. The framed window resists penetration by forcefully applied objects, such as wind hurled debris.
Abstract: A linear actuator for a platform having a frame with an open end and a platform moveable within the frame, said platform driven by a motor powered axle mounted traversely to the platform. The platform is driven by a drive system powered by the motor driven axle and generally having a pair of fixed pitch independent devices, such as chains, each chain mounted at each of its ends to the frame and aligned with the platform's axis of travel, a double drive sprocket adjacent an end of the axle, a pair of double idler pulleys aligned substantially with a chain, a pair of single idler pulleys aligned substantially with the other chain. Each chain is routed through the double drive sprocket and one chain routes through the double idler pulley, while the other chain routes trough the both the double idler pulleys and the pair of single idler pulleys.
Abstract: The invention relates to a transporting device (1) comprising a number of carriers (3), a number of pallets (2) therefor and displacing means (16, 17) for displacing the pallets and carriers, wherein each carrier comprises a carrying base (14) and a number of feet arranged thereon and wherein each pallet comprises upward protruding supports (4) which define a support surface for supporting the carrying base of a number of carriers.
Abstract: A turndown pad having a body (10) with panels (102, 104, and 106) that are received in respective openings (82, 84 and 86) of body (10) and also having covers (118 and 120) that are received in openings (88 and 90) of body (10). Panels (102, 104, and 106) are selected from corresponding families of panels with each family of panels defined by a common profile shape and size. The different members of each family of panels (102, 104 and 106) have selected arrangements of holes (110, 112, and 114) respectively so that different combinations of panels provide different combinations of holes (110, 112, and 114).
Abstract: An ejectable compact disc container comprises a housing, an ejector arm, and an ejector link. The housing is solid on five of its six sides, the sixth side of the housing is articulated on one of its ends to a lateral side of the housing and constitutes a lid of the housing. The ejector arm is located in the housing and engages the edge of the compact disc distant from the lid. The ejector arm is operable through a pivotal connection to the ejector link, which is connected to and actuated by the lid. Thus, upon opening the lid, the compact disc is pushed out of the housing.
Abstract: Disclosed is a modular worktop, and method of assembly, including a surface member, a front edge, and a backsplash, the components preferably being removably attached to each other. Each of the surface member, front edge, and backsplash may be selected from a predetermined group of decorative surfacing options, resulting in a worktop that is aesthetically pleasing to the consumer or person selecting the components. Additionally, each of the components is sized and configured so as to bring assembly and installation within the skill range of the average consumer. Because the front edge is removably attached, the front edge is changeable at the discretion of the consumer, for example, for aesthetic reasons.

Abstract: Presented is a simplified modular free-standing workbench including a pair of laterally spaced and parallel workbench-top support members to which a workbench top is rigidly yet detachably secured by quick-connect/disconnect fastener elements. Pairs of tubular steel legs rigidly yet detachably engage the associated ends of the tubular bench top support members. Foot members are rigidly yet detachably engaged with the bottom ends of the leg members to enable height adjustment. Transversely extending tubular members rigidly yet detachably engage the confronting surfaces of the laterally spaced top support members by quick-connect/disconnect fastener elements to maintain their parallelism. An auxiliary shelf may be rigidly yet detachably mounted on the workbench by an auxiliary shelf support framework supermimposed over the workbench and secured thereto by quick-connect/disconnect fastener elements.
