  • Patent number: 11668666
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for early detection of carbonization during the drying of an organic material. The method of the present invention measures temperature variation per unit time of exhaust gas containing water (H2O), carbon monoxide (CO), or carbon dioxide (CO2), which are to be generated by the pyrolysis of an organic material, and the concentration of carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide of the exhaust gas, so as to determine the occurrence of carbonization therethrough, thereby enabling early detection of carbonization within a dryer.

  • Patent number: 11650012
Abstract: A nozzle system for a carpet drying machine includes two or more planar diffusion plates each having a manifold side and a carpet side. The diffusion plates each include a plurality of apertures traversing from the manifold side to the carpet side. Each aperture is wider at the manifold side than at the carpet side so as to define a concentrating nozzle through the diffusion plate. Preferably the concentrating nozzles of each diffusion plate flare outwardly progressively increasingly from the carpet side of the diffusion plate to the manifold side of the diffusion plate. As such, with the two or more diffusion plates mounted in two or more manifolds of the carpet drying machine, with the manifold side of the diffusion plate facing away from the carpet web, hot air blown into the manifolds is concentrated into a laminar flow towards the carpet web to dry the carpet web.

  • Patent number: 11639827
Abstract: A method of drying transport and/or storage containers for radioactive waste has the first step draining or pumping residual water out of the container holding the nuclear waste. Then gas is evacuated from the interior of the drained or pumped out container interior. Thereafter an inert gas is fed into the drained or pumped out container interior while continuing to evacuate gas from the container interior. During the evacuation and/or infeeding of inert gas a rate of evacuation and/or a rate of infeed of the inert gas is controlled such such that an inert-gas content in the interior of the container is between 50 and 95 vol %.

  • Patent number: 11639825
Abstract: A process for drying polymeric granular material (2) comprises the steps of: —introducing into said drying hopper (10) a process gas having a predefined flow rate so as to heat and dry the polymeric granular material, —discharging a portion of the heated polymeric granular material into a transformation unit (100) for the polymeric material; —loading an amount of fresh polymeric granular material (2a) into the drying hopper. The process gas flow rate is regulated by measuring the inlet temperature of the fresh polymeric granular material (2a) and comparing it with a predefined inlet temperature of the fresh polymeric granular material, on the basis of which the predefined process gas flow rate has been calculated. If the measured inlet temperature is different from the predefined inlet temperature, the flow rate of the process gas is regulated on the basis of the measured inlet temperature.
