  • Patent number: 10643583
Abstract: Improvements in a stringed instrument finger board is disclosed. The finger board customizes the metal edge on the frets adding vertical indented scalloped elongated slots. The slots are created between each fret without actually cutting grooves into the actual wood on the fretboard. The design can also work with a fretless embodiment with vertical indented scallop shape elongated slots cut in between each string where the strings aren't sitting on any frets. A guitarist can pull any string on the fretboard up or down into the slots to create new bending techniques. The frets can have an angled edge to adjust the tone and allow bending the string(s) over the frets. The neck groove allows altering the string pitch, bending the string into the groove for to add an extra X-note or a ghost note beat to a 2 note pull off to add a triplet.

  • Patent number: 10637312
Abstract: Described are methods and apparatus for altering the sound generated by a motor during operation. For example, the implementations described herein include a motor in which the spacing between the rotor magnets is non-uniform (i.e., the spacing varies between rotor magnets). With non-uniform spacing of the rotor magnets, the sound generated during operation of the motor is altered. In still other implementations, the spacing or alignment of the electromagnetic coils of the stator may also be non-uniform or irregularly spaced.

  • Patent number: 10636320
Abstract: A computer system may generate acoustical recommendations for a user. A set of actual acoustical data input may be received and compared with a set of expected acoustical data accessed from memory. The set of actual and expected acoustical data may be corresponding. A set of actual acoustical data vectors may be generated and analyzed against a set of expected acoustical vectors. Deviating portions between the actual and expected may be determined and a set of performance rating vectors may be generated based on each deviating portion. Based on these vectors, and by applying the performance rating vectors to a list of reference ratings, the system can generate a set of acoustical recommendations.

  • Patent number: 10629176
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for encoding digital representations of musical compositions are described. Various components of a musical composition that are defined in modern music theory, such as notes and bars, are encoded as respective hierarchically-dependent data objects in a data file. The hierarchically-dependent data objects encode the musical composition in a tree-like data structure with modular nodes and adjustable relationships between nodes. Note start times and beat start times are encoded independently of one another and characterized by a timing relationship that captures the expressiveness imbued when notes and beats are not precisely synchronized. Musical variations that preserve the timing relationship between the notes and beats of the original composition are also generated and encoded.

  • Patent number: 10580391
Abstract: An improved Bigsby vibrato device for a guitar. The improved device includes a mechanical stop which ensures that the device returns to its original neutral position after being used, thereby preventing mistuning of the guitar. The mechanical stop may be a hard stop which prevents the device from increasing tension on the guitar strings (thereby raising the pitch) beyond the neutral position, or it may be a spring stop which allows the user to increase the tension on the strings beyond the neutral position by pulling upward on the device arm with a force sufficient to overcome the spring stop.
