  • Patent number: 11665093
Abstract: A method and system for latency-driven multi-media redirection. Through multi-media redirection, multi-media content from one or more multi-media sources may be re-routed to an endpoint to be decoded and/or rendered thereon. This redirection of multi-media content diverges from the traditional approach of directing the multi-media content from the multi-media source(s) to an information technology environment to be decoded and/or rendered prior to delivery of the decoded/rendered multi-media content to an endpoint. Current criteria for employing multi-media redirection are many, however, fail to consider network latency as a potentially crucial factor in the decision process for enabling or disabling multi-media redirection. Accordingly, the disclosed method and system propose the automated enablement or disablement of multi-media redirection based on network latency analyses.

  • Patent number: 11652731
Abstract: Methods for dynamic routing of queued network-based communications using real-time information and machine learning are performed by systems and devices. Requests associated with fulfillments are received over a network from requestor systems, and the requests are queued in a data structure of a queue. Information that includes geolocation information from a user device of a user that is associated with the fulfillment, temporal information from the user device, or related request information associated with another request is then received over the network, and a fulfiller and a fulfillment time for the fulfillment are determined from the information. The request is provided from the queue to the fulfiller at the fulfillment time over the network.

  • Patent number: 11647063
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a methods and apparatus to perform improved trickplay for higher speeds and high-latency networks. In one aspect, the method comprises receiving, in a processor, data comprising a video or audiovisual signal formatted in a sequence of chunks downloaded sequentially over a communications medium. When the processor receives a command to display the data at a trickplay speed that is higher than normal speed, the processor can begin to skip a number of chunks before downloading a next chunk in the sequence of chunks, decoding, and displaying the decoded chunk. The number of skipped chunks between each downloaded chunk may be a preset number and/or may be dynamically determined in the event that a downloaded chunk is skipped because it is not downloaded in time or if the expected download time of the next chunk is longer than the display time of the current chunk.

  • Patent number: 11627095
Abstract: Computing resources are managed in a computing environment comprising a computing service provider and an edge computing network. The edge computing network comprises computing and storage devices configured to extend computing resources of the computing service provider to remote users of the computing service provider. The edge computing network collects capacity and usage data for computing and network resources at the edge computing network. The capacity and usage data is sent to the computing service provider. Based on the capacity and usage data, the computing service provider, using a cost function, determines a distribution of workloads pertaining to a processing pipeline that has been partitioned into the workloads. The workloads can be executed at the computing service provider or the edge computing network.

  • Patent number: 11593682
Abstract: A system is configured to detect a small, but meaningful, anomaly within one or more metrics associated with a platform. The system displays visuals of the metrics so that a user monitoring the platform can effectively notice a problem associated with the anomaly and take appropriate action to remediate the problem. A first visual includes a radar-based visual that renders an object representing data for a set of metrics being monitored. A second visual includes a tree map visual that includes sections where each section is associated with an attribute used to compose the set of metrics. Via the display of the visuals, the techniques provide an improved way of representing a large number of metrics (e.g., hundreds, thousands, etc.) being monitored for a platform. Moreover, the techniques are configured to expose useful information associated with the platform in a manner that can be effectively interpreted by a user.

  • Patent number: 11516111
Abstract: A Proxy Forwarding node configured to advertise Segment Routing (SR) proxy forwarding capability of the Proxy Forwarding node for neighboring nodes of the Proxy Forwarding node using extensions to interior gateway protocol (IGP) for Proxy Forwarding for enabling an ingress node to the SR Traffic Engineering (SR-TE) path to continue to forward the traffic without modifying a segment list of the SR-TE path that includes a node segment identifier (SID) of a failed neighboring node of the Proxy Forwarding node. When the Proxy Forwarding node receives traffic targeting the failed neighboring node, the Proxy Forwarding node performs SR proxy forwarding for the failed neighboring node by forwarding the traffic towards a destination of the traffic in a direction that avoids the failed neighboring node for a period of time after the IGP has converged.

  • Patent number: 11477104
Abstract: Data channels of a computer system may be remotely monitored to detect data channel degradation. A monitoring agent on a client may execute script commands on the remote computer system to monitor input/output (I/O) rates of a set of channels.
