  • Patent number: 5267169
Abstract: A non-ravel stitch data creating method and device for a sewing machine capable of forming a stitch pattern according to stitch pattern data stores stitch pattern data and determines whether or not any stitch pitches of a predetermined number of stitches at at least one of the start and the end of the stitch pattern is equal to or greater than a reference pitch based on the stored stitch pattern data. Non-ravel stitch data is created for performing non-ravel stitching at a stitch pitch less than any stitch pitch of the predetermined number of stitches at at least one of the start and the end of the stitch pattern when a result of the determination is affirmative. Non-ravel stitch data is not created when the result of the determination is negative.

  • Patent number: 5214745
Abstract: An artificial neural device comprising; a data storage and processing device for encoding data in an abstract form representative of stimulus-response patterns onto said data storage device whereby multiple stimulus-response patterns are superimposed onto said data storage device by said processing device; a device for decoding a previously encoded response associated with a stimulus when said data storage and processing device is stimulated by said stimulus.

  • Patent number: 5163010
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for formulating a custom mixed cosmetic product at the point of sale in response to specific input criteria. The apparatus includes a plurality of containers for storing a plurality of cosmetically functional mixtures. The cosmetically functional mixtures are adapted to combine to form a cosmetic product. An input means is provided for entering into a computer the specific input criteria that is representative of a customer's need. The computer outputs a series of instruction sets in response to the specific input criteria to a dispensing means. The dispensing means automatically and sequentially dispenses the plurality of cosmetically functional mixtures into a formulation receptacle in response to the instruction sets. The plurality of cosmetically functional mixtures combine in the receptacle to form a custom mixed formulation of cosmetic product at the point of sale.

  • Patent number: 5138557
Abstract: The invention relates to a corner shape insertion method for inserting a corner shape such as a chamfered or rounded corner portion having prescribed dimensions at a corner of a profile (OLF) comprising a plurality of figure elements (S1-S8). When limits (indicated by the dashed-line segment) of the profile in which corner shapes are to be inserted is specified by designating two figure elements (S1, S5) of the prolfile (OLF), angles defined by mutually adjacent ones of the figure elements within the limits of the profile are obtained and it is determined whether the angles reside within set angular limits. If an angle lies within the set angular limits, the corner shapes (C2, C4) of prescribed dimensions are inserted between the figure elements.

  • Patent number: 5053973
Abstract: In an apparatus for correcting deflection produced in a construction due to the weight of the construction or movement of a movable member supported by the construction, a condition data representing the deflection associated with the moved position of the movable member is stored in a memory section of a correction controller. The movement of the movable member is detected by a position detector and a position signal is generated from the position detector. A command signal is supplied to a calculator and the position signal is received in the calculator synchronized with the command signal. The condition data is accessed by the calculator with the received position signal and is processed into a correction data. A correction data is supplied to a proportional control electromagnetic valve and a hydraulic cylinder for applying a force onto the construction is regulated by the valve to correct the deflection of the construction.
