  • Patent number: 7279194
Abstract: A means of effectively applying an organic EL material application liquid with good application liquid cut-off is provided. A heater and an ultrasonic oscillator are formed in a thin film formation apparatus when applying the application liquid, and heat and ultrasonic oscillations are imparted to the application liquid. Defective application liquid cut-off and liquid clogging can thus be resolved.

  • Patent number: 7264843
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent element formed on a substrate has a layer structure in which organic layer including an organic electroluminescent layer is sandwiched between a pair of electrodes. A film formation region of an emission layer which is made of a uniform film forming material in accordance with one opening of a film forming mask is formed by plural layers including a first emission layer and a second emission layer. The layers are formed at each setting of the film forming mask.

  • Patent number: 7238383
Abstract: A method of forming a compacted pellet of organic materials adaptable for making an organic layer on a structure which will form part of an OLED display, includes providing a sublimable organic material in a powder form; providing a thermally insulating and non-sublimable inorganic material in a powder form; forming a mixture of the sublimable organic powder and thermally insulating and non-sublimable inorganic powder; placing such mixture into a die and using two punches, a lower and an upper punch, to apply sufficient pressure to the mixture to cause the mixture of powders to consolidate into a solid pellet; applying heat to the die during or prior to applying pressure by the opposing punches to aid in causing the mixture of powders to consolidate into a solid compacted pellet, and removing the pellet from the die.

  • Patent number: 7235279
Abstract: A coating composition comprising at least a stimulable phosphor, a binder, and a mixed solvent is prepared. The mixed solvent comprises a low boiling temperature solvent having a viscosity of at most 0.6 mPa·s and a high boiling temperature solvent having a viscosity higher than 0.6 mPa·s, boiling temperatures of the low boiling temperature solvent and the high boiling temperature solvent being different by at least 10° C. from each other. The coating composition is applied onto a substrate and dried, and a stimulable phosphor layer is thereby formed on the substrate. The boiling temperature of the low boiling temperature solvent may be at most 110° C., and the boiling temperature of the high boiling temperature solvent may fall within the range of 110° C. to 220° C. The thus formed stimulable phosphor layer has uniform stimulable phosphor density, and a radiation image storage panel exhibiting little nonuniformity in light emission is capable of being produced.
