Abstract: An insulated icemaking compartment is provided in the fresh food compartment of a bottom mount refrigerator. The icemaking compartment may be integrally formed with the liner of the fresh food compartment, or alternatively, may be modular for installation anywhere in the fresh food compartment. A removable bin assembly with a front cover normally seals the icemaking compartment to maintain the temperature in the compartment. A cold air duct formed in the rear wall of the refrigerator supplies cold air from the freezer compartment to the icemaking compartment. A return air duct directs a portion of the air from the icemaking compartment back to the freezer compartment. An air vent in the icemaking compartment directs another portion of air into the fresh food compartment. A control system provides for controlling refrigerator functions in a manner that promotes energy efficiency. The temperature of the ice compartment is between the temperatures of the fresh food and freezer compartments.

Abstract: Recuperation systems and methods are applied to vapor compression cycles in dehumidification, such as in air conditioning. In some embodiments, a method for dehumidification includes introducing a refrigerant from a heating unit to a cooling unit along a first path; introducing the refrigerant from the cooling unit to the heating unit along a second path different from the first path; introducing the refrigerant from the heating unit to the cooling unit along a third path different from the first path; and contacting the cooling unit and the heating unit with a first gas stream.

Abstract: An integrated circuit is cooled by microarchitecture controlled Peltier effect cooling. In one embodiment, a temperature sensor thermally coupled to at least a portion of the integrated circuit of a die is adapted to provide an output as a function of the temperature of an integrated circuit portion. Operation of a thermoelectric cooler thermally coupled to the integrated circuit portion is controlled as a function of the sensor output, wherein a controller of the integrated circuit controls the thermal electric cooler. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A refrigerator door is provided. The refrigerator door has an outer case forming a shape of the refrigerator door, an inner case provided within the outer case to configure a backside of the refrigerator door wherein a space between the inner case and the outer case is charged with a foaming liquid, an ice making unit provided to one side of the inner case to make ice, a fixing unit provided to the space charged with the foaming liquid between the inner case and the outer case and fixing the ice making unit to the refrigerator door, and a dispenser provided to one side of the outer case to discharge the ice supplied by the ice making unit.

Abstract: A jewelry clasp having a pair of housings at the free ends of a piece of jewelry and are affixed together by magnetic forces. Each housing has a permanent magnet located therein and which magnets are attracted to each other when the housings are brought together. There is a safety catch on one of the housings having a protuberance extending therefrom that enters a slot in the other body. The slot passes entirely through the housing so that the protuberance can enter the slot in a first orientation and in a second orientation where one housing is inverted 180 degrees from the first orientation. The safety catch also includes a nib that aligns with an indentation formed in the slot and the entering of the nib into the indentation can be felt and/or heard by the wearer to provide assurance that the safety catch is in its locked position.

Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a main member having a main cam member and a bore extending generally along an axis of rotation. A pivot member, fixed to an end of a shaft extending through the bore, includes a pivot cam member and is rotatable with respect to the main member. At least one torque element is rotatably engaged with the shaft and is substantially rotationally fixed with respect to the main member. The at least one torque element imparts a first frictional resistance to the shaft with rotation of the shaft in a first direction and a second frictional resistance to the shaft with rotation of the shaft in a second direction. The first frictional resistance is greater than the second frictional resistance. Interaction of the main cam member with the pivot cam member assists in maintaining the hinge assembly in at least first and second positions.

Abstract: The CTF Flip-N-Zip slider enables the purchasers of a zipper with the CTF Flip-N-Zip slider installed to disconnect at least one side of a zipped zipper and return it to the starting position. Current fixed sliders are very hard to fix if a foreign object jams the zipper or if the zipper opens behind the slider. CTF Flip-N-Zip slider requires only that the owner disengage the lock and remove either the top or bottom plates or half plate depending on the design. This is shown in the drawings for a releasable latch pin of the slider. The owner would then return the zipper to the starting position and reattach and lock the slider and start over using the same slider. Other designs currently in consideration are push button releases, hinged plates with hidden lever, draw activated releases, etc. Sliders will be made to fit all available zippers and zipper materials.

Abstract: A base member for swivel caster comprises a fixed base, a rotation base and a hollow staff. The fixed base includes a ring member, and a plurality of first raceways lathed in an inward surface of the ring member. A support cavity is defined through a center of the rotation base. Assembling holes are defined in a connecting portion and communicate with the support cavity and the second raceways. During assembly, a plurality of rolling balls are extended through the assembling holes and loaded into the first raceways and the second raceways. Then a plurality of biasing balls is loaded into the assembling holes. The staff is inserted into the support cavity and blocks the assembling holes. The rolling balls contact the biasing balls instead of fixed components whereby the rolling balls swivel and rotate smoothly.

Abstract: A bezel having a lumen open to the top and bottom and a recessed center section is used both to mount a stone to a piece of jewelry and to function as a clasp for the jewelry. The recessed center section of the jewelry can be coupled to a hook to secure the jewelry to the wearer.

Abstract: An integral zipper slide and guard. The integral slide and guard is formed as a single unit, thus alleviating previous problems of attachment of zipper guards to zipper slides. Moreover, the unitary structure of the zipper slide and guard permits a one-step molding operation, thus providing inexpensive manufacture.

Abstract: A grommet for an opening of a sheet member includes a shank, a head and at least a flexible locking tab. The shank includes, in a region adjacent the head and outside the locking tab, a shoulder to be placed below an edge of the opening when the shank is rotated an angle about the axis of the opening after being inserted therein. The shoulder and the locking tab prevent withdrawal of the grommet from the opening. The shank further includes an inclined outer surface section connecting the shoulder and the lower surface of the head. The inclined outer surface section engages the edge of the opening and draws the shank into the opening upon rotation of the shank.

Abstract: An earring support device constructed of a single length of flexible metal wire or plastic line bent back upon itself at both ends and clasped or otherwise fasted so as to form a large loop at one end and one or more smaller loops at the other end.

Abstract: The ring has at least two mutually rotatable parts, with a detent mechanism for respectively one of two mutually rotatable parts, and securing means. For improving the detent mechanism and the substantially play-free retention the detent mechanism is respectively provided in the intersecting plane (S) of two mutually rotatable parts and the mutually rotatable parts are secured by at least one springable element. Furthermore, if marks are provided on the surfaces of the ring, the most varied appearances can be altered and obtained by rotating one of the parts. This applies particularly if the surfaces of the parts are not even but wave-shaped.

Abstract: A rotary type hinge device, installed between a terminal body and a folder of the portable wireless terminal. The hinge device has a first rotation axis for opening and closing operations of the terminal body and folder, and a second rotation axis extending perpendicular to the first rotation axis to be rotated relative to the first rotation axis. The hinge device is adapted to rotate the folder about the second rotation axis in a state wherein the folder and terminal body are opened. The hinge device comprises a first hinge housing coupled to the terminal body to rotate about the first rotation axis; a main shaft having its one end fixed to the inner peripheral surface of the first hinge housing and the other end thereof protruding outwardly from one side of the first hinge housing; and a second hinge housing rotatably coupled to the other end of the main shaft protruded outwardly from the first hinge housing and adapted to rotate about the second rotation axis.

Abstract: A foldable plastic slider for straddling relation with a plastic fastener includes first and second profiles. The straddling slider is adapted to close or open the fastener by movement therealong. The slider comprises a transverse support member, first and second legs, first and second separating fingers, and first and second wings. The first and second legs depend from the respective first and second opposing sides of the support member. The first and second separating fingers extend from an interior surface of the support member. The first separating finger is adapted to open the first and second profiles. The first and second wings have respective first and second openings for receiving the respective first and second legs. The first and second wings are hingedly attached to the support member, and latches on each wing engage a respective one of the legs.

Abstract: Arrangements and methods for connecting and mounting decorative ornaments, for example, beads, crystals, or gems, are disclosed. The arrangements and methods are particularly useful in mounting ornaments in decorative fixtures, such as chandeliers. In one aspect, an arrangement is provided that includes a first ornament having two mounting apertures and a second ornament having at least one mounting aperture; and at least one connector for connecting the first ornament to the second ornament whereby when hung the two apertures of the first ornament are laterally disposed from each other. Multiple pre-formed connectors are disclosed for use in connecting ornaments, such as ornament chains. Mounting hooks, mounting devices, and mounting arrangements are also provided for attaching ornaments to a support. Aspects of the invention may be used for large fixtures, such as large chandeliers, to minimize or prevent the twisting of long chains of ornaments and to support the loading of larger ornaments.

Abstract: A window operator handle securable to a casement window operating drive shaft is described. The handle is movable between an operating position to a folded position. The handle has a body housing that has a cavity which includes an operating mechanism. The operating mechanism has an assembly body secured to the housing, a pivotal member positioned in a first section of the assembly body and a sliding member positioned in at least a second portion of the assembly body. The pivotal member is adapted to pivot from a first position to a second position as the handle is moved from a first position to a second position. The pivotal member is held in one position and the other position by the sliding member. The sliding member is retained in contact with the pivotal member by a spring means in said assembly body.

Abstract: A swivel nut comprising a body (10) having a threaded bore (130), the body comprising a ridge (11) which circumferentially extends about an outer surface, the body further comprising a first surface (12) which extends normal to a body bore centerline (CL), a tapered member (20) having a tapered surface (22) and a bore (23), the tapered member further comprising a second surface (23) which extends normal to the body bore centerline and which second surface cooperatively engages the first surface, the tapered member comprising a groove (21) which extends about an inner surface, and the groove cooperating with the ridge to connect the body and the tapered member while allowing the tapered member rotational movement with respect to the body.

Abstract: Device for fixing a watchband to a watch container includes a hinge connected to the watch container with two pivots sliding therein and a fixing element fixed to or integrated into the end of the watchband provided with two brackets defining a space therebetween for arranging the hinge. Each bracket has an axial recess protruding in the space between the brackets. The axial recess is extended in a direction of the external side faces of the brackets through an orifice containing an end stone mounted such that it is slidable in the recess and exposed to the action of a second return spring which pushes a press button fixed to the external ends of the end stone towards outside. The hinge is provided on the side faces thereof with an annular chamber having a slot which defines a privileged direction.

Abstract: A pendant containing a jewel mounted in an ornamental piece supports the jewel away from a wearers neck, thereby enabling the a jewel to sparkle fully as the ornamental piece with the jewel swings delicately in synchronization with the motions of the wearer.
