  • Patent number: 8061495
Abstract: An apparatus for coupling power from shore power to a rubber tire gantry (RTG) crane comprises a power junction trolley and optionally an RTG crane. The power junction trolley receives power through a high voltage cable or alternatively through an inductive power coupling and alternatively outputs a low AC or a low DC voltage through a flexible power cable for connection to an RTG crane. A guiding apparatus directs the power junction trolley along a selected path so as to reduce a control accuracy requirement for the RTG crane. The RTG crane may move from a selected path to another selected path without interrupting a high voltage connection. The power junction trolley optionally determines its position relative to a selected path comprising a guide rail in some embodiments and a guide wire in others. Embodiments of the power junction trolley are alternately self-propelled or towed by the RTG crane.

  • Patent number: 8056483
Abstract: The invention relates to a cable or pipeline trolley (2) for travelling along a carrier rail, comprising at least one chassis (1) and a carrier device (10) for cables or pipelines, in addition to a central plate (9) that connects the carrier device (10) to the chassis (1). Known cable or pipeline trolleys of this type are sensitive to high winds and are frequently derailed from the guides as a result of the large wind-exposure area. The aim of the invention is to develop a cable or pipeline trolley so that it is more operationally secure and the chassis can run more reliably along the carrier rail even when exposed to high winds or other stress. To achieve this, at least two rectangular cavities and two triangular cavities (6, 7) are positioned within the outer boundary of the central plate (9), said cavities being symmetrical in relation to the central axis of the central plate and being separated by a strut.

  • Patent number: 8056986
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a wheel for a vehicle, in which burrs that are created in forming vent holes do not contact with the inner circumference of rim when disc is combined with rim, such that it is possible to prevent damage to the inside of rim due to burrs. Further, a hub cap is formed for covering a hub hole and separably combined with a cylindrical protrusion of disc, such that it is possible to reduce the manufacturing cost and the weight, and improve the fuel efficiency. Furthermore, a plurality of water discharge holes is formed along the joint of rim and disc, such that the water discharge holes make it possible to prevent water from collecting again at the joint of rim and disc after a process of removing water.
