  • Patent number: 7053343
Abstract: Methods for forming electrically conductive heated dielectric panels are provided. The panels are utilized for warming objects and/or insuring unobstructed viewing through the panels by removing moisture. The methods include depositing electrically conductive metal bus bars onto the dielectric panel, onto which panel a conductive coating has previously been disposed. The conductive metal bus bars are deposited onto the coated dielectric panel through the use of a circularly rotating or an inline heating head and mask apparatus, in combination with an oxyacetylene or a plasma device. A metallic tab, which extends from the panel peripheral edge, is brought into electrical contact with each conductive metal bus bar for external electrical connectivity.

  • Patent number: 6818862
Abstract: In an iron tip for a soldering iron, composed of Fe plated copper or copper alloy, an outer surface excluding a solder coating portion in a leading end portion of the iron tip is plated with Cu in a film thickness range of approximately 10 to 50 &mgr;m, the surface is coated with a mixture of Al particles and flux, only the Al particles are melted in an inert gas atmosphere, and the surface is modified into a surface with a Cu—Al alloy coated layer having a high Al concentration. As a result, without using Cr plating, it is possible to provide an electric soldering iron having an excellent resistance to oxidation under high temperature environment and a high heat conductivity.

  • Patent number: 6072158
Abstract: A method and apparatus heats a thin sheet of material prior to subjecting the sheet to a process for forming the sheet into a desired shape, such as by vacuum forming. The sheet is supported in a generally horizontal manner during transport through the apparatus, for example on a pair of conveyor chains or belts which carry and provide support to the longitudinal edges of the sheet by gripping same. The sheet is heated from above and below by heating elements and a diffuser plate is located between the upper and lower heating elements, and beneath the downwardly facing side of the sheet. The diffuser plate permits air flow therethrough from an air source and forms a film of heated air adjacent the downwardly facing side of the sheet to support the sheet and prevent excessive downward sagging thereof during heating thereof.

  • Patent number: 6012918
Abstract: Cement clinker is produced from powdered and fine-grained raw material by the use of a vertical stage cyclone preheater, a precalcinator, a kiln, and a cooler. The raw material is preheated by exhaust gases from the kiln and the cooler. Dust is filtered out of the exhaust gases, preheated, precalcined, and then burnt to cement clinker in a kiln. Downstream of the first preheater stage a relatively smaller part-quantity of the material is branched off and fed as a mixture jointly with the dust from the filter to the upper end of the precalcinator. This mixture passes through the precalcinator from top to bottom co-current with combustion air and with fuel for precalcination and then is delivered to the kiln inlet.

  • Patent number: 5951435
Abstract: For a toroidal type continuously variable transmission, the end portion of a radial needle bearing provided for a trunnion is protruded from the inner face of the trunnion. Also, the inner face of the trunnion is made substantially flat. Therefore, the processing of the trunnion is made easy, and the holder of the thrust needle bearing can be easily positioned simultaneously. Also, the structure is arranged to enable the recess formed on the trunnion to engage with the extrusion formed on the holder, thus preventing any plane pressure from being exerted excessively on the rolling surface of the needles of the thrust needle bearing, as well as preventing the needles from falling out of the pockets of the holder.

  • Patent number: 5928097
Abstract: A belt-tensioning device for a walk-behind mower with driven wheels is disclosed. The belt-tensioning device allows the operator a hands-free way to increase the idler pulley force and hence, tension of the driven belt. The device includes a belt guard, a spring adjuster assembly comprising a spring adjuster arm and a spring adjuster footstep. The operator increases the tension of the driven belt by using the footstep that is located on the device attached to the spring adjuster arm. This moves the pulley by way of a spring attached to the pulley and the belt guard. Movement of the spring increases the belt tension.
