Abstract: A cartridge connectable to a fuel cell is disclosed. The cartridge comprises an outer casing and an inner flexible liner containing fuel for the fuel cell. The inner flexible liner may have an insert disposed inside the inner liner to facilitate the transport of fuel from the cartridge to the fuel cell. The insert minimizes the fuel that is trapped within the cartridge. The inner flexible liner can be used without the outer casing. The outer casing can be substantially rigid or flexible. The cartridge is also adaptable to receive byproducts from the fuel cell. The cartridge can also be pressurized to push fuel to the fuel cell. Unidirectional relief valves are also disclosed to prevent internal pressure in the cartridge from becoming too high or too low.

Abstract: A connector for transferring a fluid includes a first connector and a second connector. Each connector includes a first outer portion including a first obstructive portion and defining a first fluid passageway for receiving a fluid therein. Each connector further includes a first central nozzle coupled to the first outer portion. The central nozzle includes a first engagement member. The first central nozzle is movable between a first position and a second position with rotation of the first outer portion. In the first position, the first obstructive portion and the first engagement portion substantially overlap to impede fluid flow through the first fluid passageway. In the second position, at least one of the first engagement member and the first obstructive member is displaced to allow fluid flow through the first fluid passageway.
Abstract: A multi-piece valve disk of a sliding and/or seat valve, a ring seal with an elastic sealing ring with an external sealing zone is placed in a ring groove of the valve disk onto a dimensionally stable backup ring, and where an elastic restoring region effectively positioned between the backup ring and the external sealing zone is arranged in the backup ring, the restoring region being embodied in one piece with the sealing ring of its material adjacent to the external sealing zone of the sealing ring.
Abstract: Conventional single-lever plumbing fixtures include a so-called cartridge in which the cold and hot water streams fed to said plumbing fixture are discharged into sanitary equipment or are blocked and are mixed with each other.
Abstract: A flow control valve having a body with an inlet port, an outlet port and an access opening. The body has a cavity connecting with the access opening and communicating between the inlet and outlet ports. A single pair of discs with orifices is located within the cavity. One disc is secured to the bonnet which extends into the cavity and the other is attached to a rotatable turning fork which rotates to change the alignment of the disc orifices thereby controlling flow to the outlet port. The bonnet and the turning fork have openings which allow fluid to flow from the inlet port to the discs. The bonnet attaches over the access opening and secures the turning fork, the discs, a wear insert and a lower seat within the cavity. An o-ring holds the valve assembly together as it is installed and removed from the valve body.

Abstract: A fuel introduction member is connected to an open end of a siphon tube which constitutes a part of a fuel tank. The fuel introduction member is provided with an opening through which a fuel is introduced from the tank into the siphon tube and from the siphon into the tank, a lid portion which is swung by the hydraulic pressure from the siphon tube so as to open the opening, and a float member which floats on the fuel in accordance with the rise of a fuel liquid surface in the tank to displace the lid portion in order to open the opening.
Abstract: In a hydrant assembly, the combination comprising an outer tubular member having a first flow port.; an inner tubular member having a closure thereon to close the port in relatively axially advanced position of the closure, and to open the port in relatively axially retracted position of the closure that allows fluid flow through the port to an outlet, control means to control relative movement of the inner and outer members. A second port may be located sidewardly of the outer tubular member to pass fluid in relatively retracted position of the closure to relieve fluid pressure in space formed between the inner and outer members, the inner member being elongated and extending lengthwise in the outer tubular member. The outer tubular member may consist of plastic material. Travel of the closure acts to allow expansion of fluid as it freezes, to relieve pressure build-up within the assembly.
Abstract: A portable remote controlled fire-fighting valve has a central chamber in a main valve body, an inlet that connects to a hydrant, an outlet that connects to a fire hose, a valve mechanism that has a seating surface that seats against part of the device to open and close a flow channel through the central chamber, and a remote controller that enables an operator to selectively open and close the flow channel. The valve mechanism uses a piston that is mounted for axial movement within the central chamber. The piston has an annular wall that slides against an outer edge of a lateral chamber surface that is fixed in position within the main valve body. A spring biases the piston to the closed position. In the open position, water from the inlet flows around the piston, over its peripheral surface, to the outlet. A pressure chamber is formed between a lateral surface that is fixed in position within the valve body and a movable interior surface on the piston.
