  • Patent number: 8991423
Abstract: Fuel interface modules that can be used in automotive vehicle fuel systems can include a body that defines a fuel channel and a plurality of ports through which fluid communication with the fuel channel can be established. Some modules include a check valve, a shutoff valve, and a coalescing filter assembly that are each coupled with a separate port. The fuel modules can be quickly installed and can eliminate many of the installing materials typically associated with automotive vehicle fuel systems.

  • Patent number: 8991416
Abstract: A shuttle valve 8 includes a valve body 9, a shuttle 10, and an actuator mechanism 11. The shuttle valve 8 includes inlet ports 37 and 39 and outlet port 40. The shuttle 10 moves between first and second at rest positions to selectively connect one of the inlet ports to the outlet port and isolate the other inlet port from the outlet port. The actuator mechanism 11 includes first and second springs 63 and 66 and moves the shuttle 10 from one of its positions to another when a set pressure differential is attained between the inlet ports. The actuator mechanism 11 moves a partial stroke distance to move the shuttle 10 between its at rest positions and moves a full stroke distance to additionally open fluid communication between one of the inlet ports and the shuttle 10.

  • Patent number: 8991417
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling pressure maintenance equipment for a cooling and heating system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of operating and controlling, under optimum conditions, pressure maintenance equipment with multiple sensors so as to check for irregularities in the sensors which measure the same physical parameter. In the present invention, measurement values of two or more sensors are used to detect whether an abnormality has occurred in any sensor. If a sensor is determined to be abnormal, a measurement value of the abnormal sensor is excluded when determining a reference control value. Thereby, the pressure can be precisely and reliably controlled in response to actual conditions of the system.

The blowout preventer has a housing having a bore therethrough for receiving the tubular, at least one ram slidably positionable in the housing (each of the rams having a ram block for sealing engagement about the tubular), an actuator for selectively driving the ram block (the actuator comprising a piston slidably positionable in a cylinder), and a monitor for detecting the piston therein. The monitor has a visual indicator on an exterior of the cylinder. The visual indicator is operatively coupled to the piston for displaying a position of the piston as the piston travels within the cylinder whereby a position of the ram may be determined.

  • Patent number: 8978699
Abstract: A status assembly to provide visual and electronic indication of the position (open, closed, in-between) of the ram of a ram-type blowout preventer (BOP). The assembly is capable of coupling with a hydraulic motor that can be used to open and close the ram locks. The status assembly includes a rotatable element protruding from the BOP, a gear rotatable by the rotatable element, and an indicator that indicates the rotation position of the rotatable element and thus the linear position of the BOP ram. Some embodiments can also include a sensor that outputs an electronic signal to the system operator and can be incorporated into the main display for the BOP control system. This device is able to give immediate feedback to operators and to indicate whether each ram has achieved its intended travel.

  • Patent number: 8967180
Abstract: A pilot type pressure regulator has: a primary port to which air is supplied from the outside; and a secondary port discharging air regulated by a main valve body provided to a main valve shaft. A main valve diaphragm abutting on an abutting end surface of the main valve shaft partitions an inner space into a secondary pressure chamber communicating with the secondary port and a pilot pressure chamber to which pilot pressure is supplied. This pressure regulator has an exhaust mechanism exhausting air from the secondary pressure chamber to the outside when pressure of the secondary port exceeds a set value. In the exhaust mechanism, a stopper holding a sealing material in a guide hole is inserted from the side close to a main valve hole, that is, an inner end portion.

  • Patent number: 8967183
Abstract: A drain line access device is provided for flushing HVACR drain lines. The device includes a main body having input and outlet connection ports on opposite ends for inline installation to a drain line, a flapper assembly sized and configured for seated placement in an interior cavity of the main body, and a removable top cover. The flapper assembly includes a flapper holder, a flapper, a flapper seat, and a spring hinge for rotatably urging the flapper into the normally raised position. An injection port is provided on the top cover for delivering a flow of pressurized gas or liquid for flushing out a clog in the drain line. In operation, delivery of pressurized gas or fluid into the drain line forces the flapper against the flapper seat, thereby sealing off one of the respective ends of the main body and directing the pressurized gas into the drain line.

  • Patent number: 8960227
Abstract: A tank for a hydraulic fluid has a housing with opposed end walls and side walls defining an interior chamber. A primary baffle is disposed inside the housing and divides the interior chamber into an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber, with a primary gap between the primary baffle and the housing fluidly communicating between the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. The primary baffle further defines a contact surface facing the inlet chamber and has first and second weirs which extend into the inlet chamber. A first fluid inlet fluidly communicates with the inlet chamber and is oriented along a first inlet axis that intersects the contact surface, while a fluid outlet communicates with the outlet chamber. The tank produces an interior flow that mixes and deaerates the fluid as it travels from the first fluid inlet to the fluid outlet.
