  • Patent number: 10538371
Abstract: A container security system includes a container chassis and a closure subsystem coupled to the container chassis. The closure subsystem includes a closure chassis that prevents movement of a material between a container volume and an exterior of the container chassis via an aperture defined by the container chassis. The closure subsystem includes a closure security sensor that generates a closure sensor signal when the closure chassis experiences a tamper event. A first type communication interface is housed in the closure chassis and a security engine provided by the closure subsystem receives a sensor signal indicating that the closure chassis has experienced the tamper event. The security engine then provides, in response to receiving the sensor signal and using the first type communication interface, a notification to a corresponding first type communication interface that the closure chassis has experienced the tamper event.

  • Patent number: 10529207
Abstract: An electronic article surveillance apparatus for monitoring boxes and other items comprises a base, an electronics housing, and an elastic band. The base has posts and spring loaded pins proximal to the posts. The elastic band has two ends and an aperture at each end. The electronics housing has apertures that align with the spring loaded pins and that give access to switches within the housing. When the base is installed on an item and the elastic band is wrapped around the item with its apertures over the posts, the band restrains the spring loaded pins. When the housing is installed on the base, the band keeps the pins from actuating the switches. If the band has its tension relaxed, by tampering for example, the band ceases to restrain the pins which then actuate the switches. The electronics monitor the switches for tampering and can signal alarms.

  • Patent number: 10528142
Abstract: A method for actuating a control device for a transportation vehicle with a control element. A spring-elastic element is disposed underneath the control element and is indirectly or directly moved and/or deformed by a piezo element to give an operator at least a haptic feedback during the operation of the control element. The spring-elastic element is moved toward the control element when the piezo element is actuated and is brought into working contact with the control element. This enables the spring-elastic element to be transferred from a stable initial position into an unstable deformation position when the control element is operated. When the control element is released, the spring-elastic element automatically passes from the deformation position back to the initial position. A haptic feedback is produced by the spring-elastic element in each case in response to a change from the initial position to the deformation position and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 10512430
Abstract: An animal health tracking assembly for tracking the physiological condition of an animal includes a collar that is wearable around a neck of an animal thereby placing the collar in physical contact with the animal. A control circuit is coupled to the collar and an electronic memory is coupled to the collar for storing a database. An allergen detector is coupled to the collar for detecting airborne allergens thereby tracking the animal's exposure to the airborne allergens. The allergen detector is electrically coupled to the control circuit and the control circuit communicates an identity of the airborne allergens to the electronic memory for storage in the database. In this way the electronic memory can track all of the airborne allergens to which the animal was exposed.

  • Patent number: 10507143
Abstract: Excretion by a diaper wearer in a diaper is predicted by providing in or on the diaper on the wearer an excretion detector capable of detecting excretion by the diaper wearer and a motion sensor capable of detecting movements of the diaper wearer. The sensor continuously detects and at least temporarily records movements of the diaper wearer, and these detected movements are analyzed to determine movement patterns. Then, on detection of excretion by the detector, a movement pattern immediately preceding the detection of excretion is stored or flagged as a critical movement pattern. Thereafter each time movements matching the critical movement pattern are detected, a signal is sent to a user.
