  • Patent number: 4627753
Abstract: A printer is provided with carriage having a daisy print wheel supporting type elements at the external circumferential edges of respective spokes that make up the wheel. The printer sequentially performs a printing operation by causing its carriage to move in the direction of a printing row and a hammer to strike the designated type element held by an associated print wheel spoke after rotating the designated type element into the printing position. The daisy print wheel includes a number of spokes each mounting a type element at its external circumferential edge. At least one of these spokes is provided with a pen at the position corresponding to that of the type element held by the remaining spokes, and as a result, by selecting the pen from the type element supported in the remaining spokes, either a picture, diagram, or a graph can be optionally drawn, thus effectively realizing a multifunctional printer.

  • Patent number: 4607968
Abstract: The device comprises two or more cover plate members (14), whose lengths are submultiples of the lengths of a range of platen rollers (12) and such that two or more plate members disposed in side-by-side relationship cover the entire length of the platen roller. Each plate member (14) comprises a lower guide portion (16) of part-cylindrical shape and two wall portions (17, 18) which are substantially planar and set at different angles of inclination, being connected to the lower guide portion in such a way to lead in a sheet of paper (19) towards the guide portion. Each plate member (14) is pivotally mounted on a control shaft (22) which is parallel to the axis of the roller (12) and capable of preventing transverse movements of the plate member with respect to the roller, and carries the usual paper pressing rollers (34, 36) which are disposed in two parallel rows. A leaf spring (26) co-operates with a lug (24) on the plate member (14) to hold the paper pressing rollers pressed against the platen roller.

  • Patent number: 4606267
Abstract: This invention relates to a page printer having an electro-thermal dot-matrix printing mechanism. The latter comprises at least one print plate which is disposed parallel in relation to the print line and radially in relation to the platen, which is hooked at both ends into a tensioning device. The print plate consists of a carrier plate made of material having relatively good electrical and heat-conducting properties. It is applied with its front surface to the thermo-sensitive recording medium on which recordings are made via a plurality of closely adjacent heating elements. These heating elements are deposited onto at least one of the lateral faces of the carrier plate, made flush with the front surface, and are conductively connected to the carrier plate. The remaining part of each of the lateral faces is covered, throughout the widths of the heating elements, with a layer of insulating material on which the conducting paths extending to the heating elements are disposed.
