Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved method for measurement of serotonin uptake sites in a sample, in which a radioligand is incubated with a sample and then the radioactivity of the radioligand bound to the sample is determined, wherein the improvement comprises using tritium-labeled 6-nitro-2-N-piperazinylquinoline or an acid addition salt thereof as the radioligand.

Abstract: An optically active compound exhibiting high speed response properties when used as a component of liquid crystal materials used in a liquid crystal display mode utilizing ferroelectricity, and a liquid crystal composition containing the compound are provided, which compound is expressed by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents alkyl, alkoxy or alkoxycarbonyl each of 2 to 18 C, R.sup.2 represents alkyl of 3 to 18 C or alkoxy of 1 to 18 C and A represents a member selected from a group of two directly bonded six-membered rings having a halogen atom, cyano group, methyl group or trifluoromethyl group attached thereonto and * represents an unsymmetric carbon atom.
Abstract: These wax-based mascara compositions have cosmetic properties which are improved by the presence, in combination with the waxes, of keratin sulphonic derivatives of formula ##STR1## in which formula K denotes the keratin residue, and M.sup.+ denotes H.sup.+, a cation derived from an alkali metal or magnesium, or N.sup.+ (R).sub.4, the radicals R being identical or different and each denoting H or an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl radical containing at most 4 carbon atoms, the unit A denoting from 3 to 15% by weight of the keratin derivative and being the only modified unit in the protein chain of the keratin. The derivatives of formula (I) act both as a cohesion agent and a thickener, enabling a sheathing to be produced on the eyelashes with immediate adhesion and with a flexible film-forming effect.
Abstract: A myocardial imaging agent for humans is a technetium(III) complex ligated in the planar positions by a tetradentate ligand such as (acac).sub.2 en and in the axial positions by an ether containing phosphine ligand such as tris(3-methoxy-1-propyl)-phosphine. The agent exhibits extremely rapid blood clearance after injection into a human and has a sufficiently high heart/liver and heart/lung ratios to provide effecitve myocardial images. A kit for preparing the above myocardial agent is disclosed.
