  • Patent number: 10210289
Abstract: A method for designing three-dimensional freeform surface is provided. An initial surface and a first three-dimensional rectangular coordinates system are established. A number of feature rays are selected. A number of intersections of the feature rays with a first freeform surface are calculated, wherein the intersections are a number of feature data points. The first freeform surface is obtained by surface fitting the feature data points. An equation of the first freeform surface includes a conic term and a freeform surface term. The first freeform surface is taken as the initial surface for an iteration process.

  • Patent number: 10164560
Abstract: A method for creating a switch reluctance motor memory sensor model. A switch reluctance motor memory sensor circuit model is formed by two current transmitters AD844, an operational amplifier AD826, a memristor, a capacitor, and three resistors. The method for creating a switch reluctance motor memory sensor model enables physical phenomena in a simulation system to be similar to an actual switch reluctance motor system, and is beneficial for direct mathematical simulation of a switch reluctance motor system. The method is simple, can improve static and dynamic performance of a system, and achieves real-time simulation and real-time control of the switch reluctance motor system.

  • Patent number: 10019411
Abstract: Techniques for estimated compound probability distribution are described. An apparatus may comprise a configuration component, perturbation component, sample generation controller, an aggregation component, a distribution fitting component, and statistics generation component. The configuration component may be operative to receive a compound model specification and candidate distribution definition. The perturbation component may be operative to generate a plurality of models from the compound model specification. The sample generation controller may be operative to initiate the generation of a plurality of compound model samples from each of the plurality of models. The distribution fitting component may generate parameter values for the candidate distribution definition based on the compound model samples. The statistics generation component may generate approximated aggregate statistics. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9971857
Abstract: A hybrid computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach is provided for modeling a bounded domain by processing the domain to automatically locate a viscous region(s) by: dividing the domain into cells and determining flow characteristic values for cells; defining characteristic cutoff values using multiple cutoff percentiles of cells and the flow characteristic values, and defining ranges between cutoff values, and respective ? values, where one ? value is a highest ? value R; assigning ? values to cells based on the determined flow characteristic values in comparison to the cutoffs; selectively increasing the assigned ? value of a cell(s) sharing a border with a seed cell having ? value R; identifying a viscous region where multiple contiguous cells have assigned ? values equal or above a threshold; evaluating the viscous region(s) by performing viscous domain solve; and providing a model of the domain using results of the viscous domain solve.

  • Patent number: 9915522
Abstract: Provided are scatterometry techniques for evaluating a 3D diffracting structure. In one embodiment, a method involves providing a 3D spatial model of the diffracting structure and discretizing the model into a 3D spatial mesh. The method includes approximating 3D fields for each element of the 3D mesh using 3D spatial basis functions and generating a matrix including coefficients of the 3D spatial basis functions approximating the fields. The coefficients of the 3D spatial basis functions are computed and used in computing spectral information for the model. The computed spectral information for the model is compared with measured spectral information for the diffracting structure. If the model is a good model fit, the method involves determining a physical characteristic of the diffracting structure based on the model of the diffracting structure.
