  • Patent number: 6315518
Abstract: In a stationary blade of a gas turbine, the pressure resisting strength can be decreased by using low-pressure cooling air, and effective cooling can be performed by means of a simple construction. An inside shroud 1 and an outside shroud 2 are cooled by cooling air passing through an impingement plate. A trailing edge portion of a blade portion 6, which is thin in shape, is cooled by cooling air flowing in an air passage 10. Part of this air is discharged through a hole 12 on the side of the inside shroud 1 as inside seal air for a combustion gas passage.

  • Patent number: 6314861
Abstract: Disclosed is a diaphragm-based spring brake actuator assembly which allows for the delivery of more force to the push rod without increasing the size of the actuator unit. The invention allows for the use of a stronger heavy main compression spring in the emergency brake chamber to provide greater emergency or parking brake force to the push rod. The invention also allows the service brake chamber to operate more efficiently when braking pressure is introduced. These functions are accomplished through modifications in the design of the actuators which allow for the deployment of a larger pressure plate inside either the emergency housing or the service brake housing, or both, allowing delivery of more force to the push rod of the actuator; and are made possible in actuator units having the same dimensional profile as existing weaker units.

  • Patent number: 6311492
Abstract: A master cylinder realizes a stroke simulator function without the need to change the structure around a brake pedal and without impairing brake pedal feel, is easy to form by machining, and also facilitates a hydraulic fluid charging and air bleeding operation. A secondary piston is split to make the axial length thereof variable, thereby imparting the stroke simulator function to the secondary piston. By doing so, brake pedal feel is improved more than by separately adding a stroke simulator.
