  • Patent number: 4183167
Abstract: A three dimensional, educational and entertainment toy or game is disclosed. The game includes a board having a plurality of rows of pegs of preferrably hexagonal cross-section projecting from the top surface thereof and arranged with the pegs of alternate rows being offset from each other so that pegs in one row are disposed on a line halfway between those of the next adjacent row. Thus a line drawn from the midpoint of any three immediately adjacent pegs will form an equilateral triangle where two of the pegs lie in one row and the remaining peg lies on a line splitting the distance between the first two. The game also includes a plurality of geometrically shaped playing pieces taking various planar forms such as equilateral triangles, regular hexagonals, squares, circles etc. and being cast in varying colors so that an almost infinite variety of geometric and color configurations can be achieved when the pieces are assembled on the board.

Abstract: A mount for display objects including drawings, paintings, thin sheets or other large thin sheets comprising a pair of opposed rectangular flexible plastic sheets arranged face to face and adapted to receive the display object therebetween, at least one of said sheets being transparent. Said sheets have continuous opposed peripheral inner wall portions with peripheral recesses formed in said wall portions defining a peripheral cavity. A sealant fills said cavity throughout 360.degree. for securing and sealing together said sheets around their periphery. The space between said sheets is evacuated with the display object operatively, snugly and protectively held and sealed between said sheets. A continuous channel extends around and receives and encloses margins of said sheets overlying said sealant. Additional sealant substantially fills said channel and is interposed between said channel and peripheral outer sides and edges of said sheets.

  • Patent number: 4180933
Abstract: A device for displaying the definition of words listed alphabetically in sequence on a continuous roll of tape. The tape is rolled past a display window between two rollers each linked by a belt to a reversible motor. A cursor is externally slidably mounted on the housing so as to travel under manual pressure transversely to the direction of travel of the tape, with an electrical contact brush internally mounted to the cursor above the tape which makes contact with a metal idler roller under the tape when the cursor is positioned so that the brush passes through a hole in the tape. A hole is located in the tape at the beginning of each set of words of each letter of the alphabet, with the transverse location of such holes corresponding to markings on the housing to which the cursor may be aligned.

  • Patent number: 4179832
Abstract: Structures are provided in inflatable displays which include arrays of electric lamps which are operable for creating a variety of lighting effects including both stationary and flashing or simulated moving light effects. In one form, the display is formed of flexible transparent plastic and extends a substantial distance above the ground, when inflated, to provide support for one or more strings of electric lamps. The lamps of each string or row thereof are intermittently energized in a manner to provide the illusion of upward or downward movement of one or more light sources to attract attention. The inflated portion of the display, because of its transparency, appears to be substantially invisible at night time. In another form, the inflated portion of the display is bulbous in configuration when internally inflated. In yet another form, the inflated portion of the display comprises one or more upwardly extending elongated or tapered portions, each supporting one or more strings of electric lamps thereon.
