Abstract: A urine collection system for females comprised of a soft, flexible, sealing member forming a seal around the external urethral ostium, by conformation to and adhesion to the tissue surface. A conduit, or drain, passes through the sealing member leading to collection and storage means for the urine. A positioning or orientation member is provided to achieve alignment of the conduit lumen through the sealing member with the urethral orifice.
Abstract: An incision opening expansion holder for use surgical operation, especially for inosculation comprising an outer tube being capable of inserting into the lumen of a vein graft, an inner tube slidably inserting into the outer tube and a grip being fixed to one end of the inner tube, the inner tube has a plurality of short wires, the bases of which are fixed to the other end of the inner tube and each wire is to be energized to expand so as to hold the incision opening of the vein graft open when the holder is inserted into the lumen and also when the wires of the inner tube are projected out of the outer tube by handling the grip, so that inosculation operation can be undertaken under good visual field and surgeons can observe easily the piercing point of sewing of the vein graft.
Abstract: Apparatus for powered infusion or sampling of a patient comprises: a housing (11) carrying a toothed roller (17), an electric motor (19), a transmission (20) operably coupling such roller and motor, and attachment means (14); and a syringe (12) including a barrel (13) and plunger (15), the plunger being of plastics material having a smooth untoothed longitudinal profile (16), and the attachment means holding the syringe by its barrel in a predetermined disposition relative to the housing with the plunger extending transversely relative to the toothed roller axis of rotation and such roller in penetrated driving engagement with said plunger profile; is provided with a further roller (23) carried by said housing and in transversely driven engagement with the syringe plunger; and a monitor (24) operably coupled with the further roller to generate electrical signals representing rotation of such roller and, in turn, plunger translation.
