  • Patent number: 6745923
Abstract: An automatically opening pour spout fitment to be applied to a container over location where the container wall has a weakened area. The automatically opening fitment is comprised of a cap which is threadably attached to the fitment and which has a depending cam extending downward from the top wall. The fitment is comprised of a annular sidewall which defines a pouring zone and which provides a boundary for a hinged flap. The flap has an upwardly extending cam follower which is engaged by the cam of the cap such that when the cap is removed from the fitment, the cam initially applies a horizontal force on the cam follower to open the package to which the fitment is attached to.

  • Patent number: 6739572
Abstract: A timing lock device for a faucet includes a valve seat, a top cover, a locking washer, a relief rod, a locking valve shaft, and a compression spring. In use, the relief rod may be used to release the water pressure in the pressure storage chamber of the top cover. Then, the locking washer may be moved upward by the locking valve shaft, so that the water may flow outward. When not in use, the water may flow through the return through hole of the top cover into the pressure storage chamber. Thus, the water flow may be stopped automatically by the restoring force of the compression spring and the water pressure in the pressure storage chamber, thereby saving the manual work, and thereby achieving an excellent leakproof effect.

  • Patent number: 6685166
Abstract: A valve assembly for creating a seal between a valve stem and a valve housing includes a valve housing having a first end wall, a second end, and a peripheral wall extending between the first and second ends walls such that a lumen is defined. Each of the first and second ends has an opening extending therethrough and into the lumen. A valve stem has a first end extending through the peripheral wall and toward the opening in the first end wall. A plate is attached to the first end of the stem. The plate is positionable over the opening in the first end wall. A sleeve is positioned in the housing and extends over the stem. The sleeve is positioned in the housing and extends over the stem. The sleeve is attached to the peripheral wall and the plate such that the sleeve is closed off from the lumen.

  • Patent number: 6616125
Abstract: A corrosion resistant, soft magnetic, ferritic steel alloy, a useful article made therefrom, and a method of using the alloy are described. The alloy has the following composition in weight percent. C 0.005-0.040 Mn  1.0 max. Si  1.0 max. P 0.050 max. S 0.020 max. Cr  27.0-30.0 Ni  0.35 max. Mo  0.35 max. Cu  0.35 max. Co  0.25 max. N 0.010-0.05 The balance is essentially iron and the usual impurities found in similar grades of ferritic stainless steels. In accordance with another aspect of this invention, there is disclosed a magnetic component for a magnetically actuated device such as a solenoid valve wherein the magnetic component is formed of the aforesaid alloy. In accordance with a further aspect of this invention, there is disclosed a solenoid valve that incorporates a movable magnetic core that is formed of the aforesaid alloy.

  • Patent number: 6585002
Abstract: The present invention relates to automatic transmissions of land motor vehicles. Specifically, the present invention relates to pressure regulation in the system of automatic transmissions of land motor vehicles. The present invention is a pressure regulator valve that limits TV pressure. This valve is meant to replace the original equipment valve in the same casing the said original valve sat. The pressure regulator valve is slightly oversized and the kit has an o-ring equipped end plug to more positively seal the valve bore and prevent pressure loss, known in the industry as EPC/TV pressure. Furthermore, the valve has annular grooves added to prevent side loading by properly centering the valve in a bore. The pressure regulator valve comprises a steel ball and a spring combination with a gel like substance being added to prevent high wear and tear of the entire valve.

  • Patent number: 6578816
Abstract: An active micromechanical air valve for pressure control in a disk drive and method for making the same is disclosed. A first layer having a first thermal coefficient of expansion and a second layer having a second thermal coefficient of expansion are formed. The first layer and the second layer are configured to form a membrane. The first and second layer engage in a closed state to prevent air flow there between in a first thermal state and open to allow air flow there between in a second thermal state.
