A frangible line extends from an edge of the lid hinge panel to a first point on the panel and then outwardly to the hinge. The frangible line crosses the hinge and extends inwardly to a second point on the base hinge panel. From the second point the frangible line extends to an edge of the base hinge panel. When the container is initially sealed, the frangible line separates upon the application of an upwardly directed force to a first portion of the lid hinge panel while a second portion of the lid hinge panel is held in a fixed position or moved downwardly. The separation of the frangible line creates two grasping portions that can be used to pull the lid from the base.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a safety-enhanced can lid, and more particularly to a safety-enhanced can lid in which a prevention portion configured to prevent a user's hand from being cut is provided along the edge of the lid that is coupled to seal a can, thereby enabling safe use. For this purpose, the present invention provides a can lid that is coupled to the top side of a container in which contents are stored, the can lid including: a plate laid to cover the top portion of the container, composed of a flat plate, and provided with a pull tab on the top surface thereof; and a hand-cut prevention portion including a cut prevention wall bent downward from the edge of the plate toward the container.

A corrugated flex pipe configured straw fully extendable for use of the assembly is configured to collapse on itself in a telescoping movement and has a first and a second portion. A second side of the first portion engages the hole on the first side of the lid and a second side of the second portion engages the hole on the second side of the lid. A first sealing plug is affixed to the first side of the first portion of the straw and a second sealing plug is affixed to the first side of the second portion of the straw to seal an inside of the straw.
