  • Patent number: 11543232
Abstract: An apparatus for oral imaging has a light source energizable to generate a light frequency signal ranging from a minimum to a maximum frequency. An image acquisition apparatus scans the generated light frequency signal to successive positions on a sample surface and to combine a returned signal from each successive position with the generated light frequency signal. The image acquisition apparatus has a detector that obtains a beat frequency signal from the combined returned signal and the generated light frequency signal. A processor that is in signal communication with the detector generates a processed beat signal from the combined signals, wherein the processed beat signal is indicative of the distance from the tunable laser source to the sample surface at the corresponding position. A display is in signal communication with the processor and is energizable to display distance data according to the processed beat signal for each scanned position.

  • Patent number: 11523176
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining, based on recommendations provided by users that have consumed a media asset, which consumption options may be configured on a media device such that when configured enhance the user viewing experience for a specific media asset. The method includes accessing comments posted by other users that have consumed the media asset. The comments are analyzed to determine a consumption option recommendation. If the number of comments meet a threshold value, then the system either automatically configures the media device or configures the media device upon user approval with the recommended consumption option. The recommendation to configure a consumption option on the media device is made only if the recommendation is supported by the media device. The system also detects through audio and image analysis which users are consuming the media asset and accordingly configures the consumption options to their preferences.

  • Patent number: 11508115
Abstract: A stored volumetric scene model of a real scene is generated from data defining digital images of a light field in a real scene containing different types of media. The digital images have been formed by a camera from opposingly directed poses and each digital image contains image data elements defined by stored data representing light field flux received by light sensing detectors in the camera. The digital images are processed by a scene reconstruction engine to form a digital volumetric scene model representing the real scene. The volumetric scene model (i) contains volumetric data elements defined by stored data representing one or more media characteristics and (ii) contains solid angle data elements defined by stored data representing the flux of the light field. Adjacent volumetric data elements form corridors, at least one of the volumetric data elements in at least one corridor represents media that is partially light transmissive.

  • Patent number: 11497382
Abstract: A system and method for displaying an endoscope image in a preferred orientation. An endoscope scans a sample with spectrally encoded light by rotating imaging optics inside an endoscope guide. A processor generates an image based on light returned from the sample, and rotates the image by a first angle offset value and a second angle offset value to display the rotated image in the preferred orientation. The first offset value is an angle difference between a specific direction in which the image is to be displayed on a display and a direction in which the tip of the endoscope is oriented with respect to the imaging plane. The second offset value is an angle difference between a direction of the line of scanning light projected onto a plane perpendicular to the tip and the specific direction in which the image is to be displayed.
