Abstract: An image forming system of an embodiment includes a terminal device that transmits first print data to print an image in monochrome, second print data to print the image in color and a user ID; a print data storage section that stores the first print data, the second print data and the user ID transmitted from the terminal device in an associated manner; an authentication section that authenticates a user; a list acquisition section that acquires a list including the first and second print data associated with the user ID of the user authenticated by the authentication section; a print data acquisition section that acquires one print data selected from the acquired list by the list acquisition section; and an image forming section that prints an image formed with the print data acquired by the print data acquisition section.

Abstract: A print color management apparatus includes a table control section that creates a first table; a registering section that causes each image forming apparatus to register a specific print color assigned to itself and a name of the specific print color; and a chart data creating section that creates print data of a chart. In the print data, color values are specified for color patches for print color management and color name is specified for a first specific patch on the basis of the first table. The print color management apparatus further includes a chart judging section that obtains measured color data of a chart printed, and judges, on the basis of the measured color data, whether the measured chart is usable for print color management of a designated image forming apparatus; and a print color management section that performs the print color management according to the judgement result.

Abstract: A printed document manager manages printed documents associated with respective electronic documents. When a document is printed, a graphical symbol referred to as a “postmark” is generated and inserted into the print stream so the postmark is printed on the hard copy of the document. The printed document is logged in a printed document store along with metadata associated with the printed document. The postmark on the printed document can be used for one or more purposes, such as to determine whether the printed document is current, to locate the corresponding print image in the printed document store, to locate the corresponding electronic document in the document management system, to automatically file a hand-notated version of the printed document, and to determine whether the printed document can be shredded after use. The printed document manager thus provides a way to effectively manage printed documents.

Abstract: Provided is a method of generating a workform that defines an order of performing jobs, the method including: setting any one of an image forming apparatus and a mobile device as an input source for receiving a job target; setting a transforming method for transforming a job target received through the input source; setting any one of the image forming apparatus and the mobile device as a transmission destination for transmitting the job target transformed according to the transforming method; and storing a workform defining an order of performing jobs according to the input source, the transforming method, and the transmission destination.

Abstract: Provided is an image processing system which reduces the load of destination registration on the user. To accomplish this, in an image processing system including a PC (102) and device (101) connected to a network, the PC (102) has a transfer unit (120) which transfers identification data of the PC (102) to the device (101), and the device (101) has a scanner unit (130) which scans an image and outputs the image data, a memory (140) which stores a destination of the output image data from the scanner unit (130), a transfer unit (150) which transfers the image data to the destination stored in the memory (140), and a registration unit (170) which receives the identification data transferred by the transfer unit (120), and registers the received identification data as a destination of image data in the memory (140).

Abstract: An image processing system that prevents erroneous job execution without significantly decreasing the usability includes receiving a request relating to a job, accepting a job execution instruction, and executing the job in response to acceptance of the execution instruction. If a plurality of requests relating to jobs is received, information for confirmation of the job is provided. If a single request relating to a job is received, information for confirmation of the job is not provided.

Abstract: A process, machine-readable instructions, and a system are described in which two communication sessions are attempted to be established between a client application and an image processing apparatus. In some examples, the first communication session is permitted while delaying the operation of the second communication session until the first communication session has completed.

Abstract: A print engine is adapted to print image data from a plurality of pre-processing systems that supply image data at different image resolutions and halftoning states. A data interface receives the image data and associated metadata including an image resolution parameter and a halftone state parameter. A metadata interpreter interprets the metadata and determines image processing operations that are required to prepare the image data for printing using a printer module. A resolution modification processor module processes the image data to modify its resolution if the metadata interpreter determines that the image resolution of the image data does not match the printer resolution. A halftone processor module processes the image data by applying a halftoning operation if the metadata interpreter determines that the image data is not in an appropriate halftoning state.
