Abstract: The present development is a device for monitoring uterine activity and sending an alert signal through a wireless communication means when uterine activity significantly changes relative to a preset standard. The device, which comprises at least one sensor, is intended to continuously monitor a prescribed activity, such as uterine contractions. The information gathered by the sensors is fed to a computer application for comparison to preset values and, if the gathered information falls outside of the range of the preset values, feeds a signal to a second application designed to send out notifications to preprogrammed devices indicating the physical location of the source data, or where the pregnant patient is located.
Abstract: An image capture device may capture visual content during a capture duration. The context of capture of the visual content by the image capture device may be assessed and used to determine values of stabilization parameters for the visual content.

Abstract: A device and method for achieving a high probability of match for identifying individuals in a particular group, is provided. The device and method consists of two stages. The first stage compares a biometric template against personnel in an authorized group with a high probability of match standard. In the second stage, in response to no match being made in the authorization group, a search would be conducted against a second group, such as a watch list, with the same or lower probability of match rate.
Abstract: An image sensor generates first digital samples and second digital samples during respective first and second sampling intervals, the first digital samples including at least one digital sample of each pixel of a first plurality of pixels, and the second digital samples including at least one digital sample of each pixel of a second plurality of pixels. A sum of the first digital samples is accumulated within a first counter as the first sampling interval transpires, and a sum of the second digital samples is accumulated within the first counter as the second sampling interval transpires.
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a camera captures a plurality of images of substantially the same scene at different exposure levels for each video frame to be captured. These images are then deghosted, merged or fused, and processed using a spatially, and optionally also temporally, varying tonemapping operator, and the resulting image after some further finishing is written into a video stream. In some embodiments, this processing is performed in real time on a graphics processing unit present in the device containing the camera. Other applications are shown and discussed.
Abstract: Push-cables and associated apparatus for pipe inspection systems are disclosed. In one embodiment a pipe inspection system includes a camera head, a push-cable including an outer covering enclosing a plurality of electrical conductors for transmitting signals and/or power between the camera head and an electronic device operatively coupled to the push-cable, and a spring assembly disposed about the push-cable near the distal end where the spring assembly comprises a spring with a tapered flex section having a varying cross-sectional area and/or a varying cross-sectional shape.

Abstract: An image capture device may capture two hemispherical views of a scene. The two hemispherical view of the scene may be stitched along a stitch line. The image capture device may be rotated to align the stitch line with a mid-line of a panoramic field of view of the scene. Separate exposure settings may be used to capture the two hemispherical views of the scene, with the exposure settings increasing the dynamic range of the scene depicted within the panoramic field of view of the scene. The panoramic field of view of the scene may be punched out as panoramic visual content.
Abstract: A device and method to obtain accurate blood pressure measurement without a cuff, using a plurality of PPG sensors, in a non-clinical setting; that is, without the measurement being administered by a medically trained person. Unique and novel elements make this possible by eliminating the confounding effects of gravity in cases where the lay user is not careful to position the device at a specific or consistent elevation relative to that of the heart.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a panning camera using multiple lenses having a common planar image plane. An imaging device is positioned across said image plane sampling a section each time. The sampled plane is an imaging representation of a very large angular scenery and it is sampled and displayed piece by piece by the imaging device. An instantaneous image of a said section is displayed or stored by a computing device. Installation of two or more said panning camera with an offset distance in between will be the basis of fast 3D measurement of scenery around the installed cameras. As the imaging device advances across said image plane it will pass across fields of view of multiple lenses. The present invention relates to high resolution very wide field of view panning camera without moving the external camera casing. Said imaging device could be a CCD, CMOS, FLIR or other imaging camera device.
Abstract: The systems and applications for generating the augmented reality (AR) images are disclosed. The system includes a processing module and a digital microscope module having a plurality of camera units, and the processing module tracks and parses the user's motions to generate the related control signals, the virtual objects composed to form the AR images according to the received instant images of the observed objects captured by the digital microscope module. Moreover, the processing module generates and outputs the AR images composing of the instant images and the user interface (UI), icons, objects, video and/or information related to the interactive applications while the display mode switch or the real-time tutorial and sharing is triggered.
