  • Patent number: 3937000
Abstract: A continuous bi-compound bulky yarn consisting of a pair of acrylic polymeric components differing from each other in some of their properties is prepared by spinning those components in solution to produce a spun yarn which is drawn and then, successively, passed through a first oven heated to a temperature in the range of 130.degree.-250.degree.C, subjected to a false twist by means of a rotating spindle, passed through a second oven heated to a temperature in the range of 120.degree.-240.degree.C, and wound on a holder.

  • Patent number: 3937255
Abstract: What follows is a description of a unique arrangement forming safety equipment for installations containing a medium under pressure. The safety equipment includes a wall of the installation whose thickness is reduced in a predetermined region relative to the remaining region of the wall and an element disposed within the installation which extends over and beyond the reduced thickness region of the installation wall. The element is provided with bulges at its ends which define along with the inner surface of the installation wall a reduced flow cross section. This reduced flow cross section is chosen so that the pressure prevailing during normal operation in the space defined by the inner surface of the installation wall and that portion of the element between the bulges is the same as the pressure prevailing in the installation.

  • Patent number: 3935989
Abstract: A foldable carton tray and a blank therefor which is formed with longitudinal and lateral fold lines parallel to the boundaries of the blank to delineate respectively side and end panels connected by corner panels and all surrounding a centre panel, each end panel having diagonal fold lines extending from the adjacent intersections of said longitudinal and lateral fold lines towards but stopping short of the edge of said panel to delineate a first trapezoidal shaped flap with a tongue extension formed by two cut extensions of said diagonal fold lines opening into said edge, and the centre panel having three cut lines near each end to delineate at each end a second trapezoidal shaped flap which has a common base with said first flap and is complementary to the latter. The blank is preferably constructed so that at each end downward folding of said first trapezoidal shaped flap at 90.degree.

  • Patent number: 3934275
Abstract: A two phase recirculating sanitary system is described in which the flushing fluid phase is temporarily stored in the toilet bowl while the waste phase in the storage tank is being drained. A controllable valve is inserted between the toilet bowl and the waste tank. Prior to draining the waste tank, the controllable valve is closed and the flushing fluid phase is pumped into the toilet bowl where it is stored. The waste tank is then drained and all waste material is removed. The controllable valve is then opened releasing the flushing fluid to cover the bottom portion of the waste tank and the system is ready for use.

  • Patent number: 3934615
Abstract: This invention discloses an insulated, longitudinally segmented, rigid conduit containing several pipes of varying sizes. The conduit comprises any number of separate pipe carrying segments wherein the rigid casing, the rigid insulation, and the pipe constitute integral parts of these segments providing rigidity to them. The invention discloses multiple unit conduits and a single unit suitable for use as a conduit by itself, which can be attached to similar units or to other surfaces such as floors, walls or ceilings. The conduit is designed to withstand external bending and shear stresses and internal fluid pressures.

  • Patent number: 3931649
Abstract: Anti-splash attachment means for the flush water circulating rim on a conventional-type toilet bowl. It comprises a first C-shaped strap member which is opposed to inner peripheral surface portions of the encompassing flush rim, said strap member having circumferentially spaced U-shaped stainless steel or equivalent clips. These clips are yieldingly clasped over and clamped on the rim. Vertically disposed guides, more particularly, closed-bottom socket members are fixed to the respective clips and are interiorly provided with suitably nested coil springs. The anti-splash guard or shield comprises a second C-shaped strap member slidingly keyed in slots provided therefor in the socket members. The springs engage and yieldingly project the guard to an elevated position. When the usual hinged seat ring, with or without the cover, is lowered it engages and forces the guard down to a retracted out-of-use position.
