  • Patent number: 7167453
Abstract: A partially interconnected network has a plurality of Allocated Nodes, each allocated to one of a number of AREAs, and further has a plurality of Star Nodes (STARs), and also has point-to-point interconnections between the Allocated Nodes and the STARs. The number of AREAs with Allocated Nodes connected to an individual STAR forms the number of ROUTEs from an individual STAR. The Allocated Nodes of a first of the AREAs are connected to a set comprising some, but not all, of the STARs. Further of the AREAs are similarly interconnected to further sets each comprising STARs. There is at least one connection choice between any two Allocated Nodes in different AREAs and where a connection route is two point-to-point interconnections connected in series by a STAR.

  • Patent number: 7113495
Abstract: To provide a data transmission method and an apparatus thereof in a relay transmission type radio network capable of selecting an appropriate down-link relay route according to a location of a terminal station. A first relay node having received an up-link ACK packet transmitted by the terminal station transmits to an second relay node the up-link ACK packet including a source terminal station ID and a relay source node ID representing its own node ID. The second relay node having received the up-link ACK packet registers information on a pair of the source terminal station ID and the relay source node ID with a relay node list, and selects an appropriate route of a down-link packet addressed to the terminal station by using the information registered with the relay node list.

  • Patent number: 7110375
Abstract: The present invention supports a virtual private network identifier for an information packet transmission on an IP mobility system. By identifying a virtual private network in this manner, the Foreign Agent will be able to properly route data packets even if two or more Mobile Nodes are associated with virtual private networks on the same home network.

  • Patent number: 7103049
Abstract: A byte boundary information recovery mechanism locates the first bits of respective bytes of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM)-based serial data stream, used by a frame synchronization mechanism to delineate respective cells of the ATM stream, and thereby enables transceiver equipment to successfully receive and parse ATM traffic. The invention employs a counter offset-based scheme that generates an output signal in potential alignment with the (first bit) boundary of a byte of the data stream, in response to the contents of a counter reaching a prescribed count value. It then iteratively shifts, as necessary, the bit time at which the output signal is produced relative to the counting operation of the counter, until the output signal is aligned with the boundary of a byte of the data stream.

  • Patent number: 7103023
Abstract: A radio communication control station including a packet receiver, a paging controller, a location information receiver, and a retriever. The packet receiver receives an IP packet destined for a radio communication terminal subscribing to one of sub-networks constituting a composite radio communication network. The paging controller causes one of the sub-networks to page the radio communication terminal. The location information receiver receives location information on a current location of the radio communication terminal from the radio communication terminal. The retriever retrieves candidates of sub-networks that can be employed by the radio communication terminal on the basis of the location information on the radio communication terminal. The radio communication terminal selects a sub-network for its use among from the candidates and establishes an environment for communication with the sub-network.

  • Patent number: 7075885
Abstract: Modulation codes for code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular communications systems that are mutually orthogonal may be generated as a sequence of Walsh codes. A method of assigning Walsh codes includes the steps of (404) receiving as input a status vector (200) for a Walsh code system of length 2n and a selected Walsh code length j=2n?k; (406)–(418) creating a new status vector for a selected Walsh code length of j from the status vector; (416) creating a search mask for the selected Walsh code length j; (418) creating a search sequence for the selected Walsh code length j; and (434)–(442) searching the search sequence for the next available Walsh code. The status vector is updated (500) to track the assignment and release of each Walsh code of each Walsh code length in the Walsh code system.

  • Patent number: 7042472
Abstract: A method of morphing between the states of a sound, which is defined by a group of one or more parameters. The method comprises providing a display of at least five fixed points each associated with the group of one or more parameters. The values of each of the parameters in the group are predetermined for each fixed point and the value of at least one parameter for each fixed point is different from the value of the same parameter for all the other fixed points. The method further comprises positioning a unfixed point in the display to set the state of the sound, whereby the value of each of the parameters of the group defining the state is determined using the value of the corresponding parameter of each of the fixed points combined with a respective weighting factor. The respective weighting factor for each fixed point depends on the position of the unfixed point relative to that fixed point.

  • Patent number: 7012624
Abstract: A method for generating texture includes (1) selecting a target patch to be filled in a image, (2) selecting a sample patch as a candidate for filling the target patch, (3) determining a first difference between a first area surrounding the target patch and a corresponding first area surrounding the sample patch, and a second difference between a second area surrounding the target patch and a corresponding second area surrounding the sample patch, (4) multiplying a larger of the first difference and the second difference with a first weight factor, and a smaller of the first difference and the second difference with a second weight factor, and (5) summing the weighted first difference and the weighted second difference as a distance between the target patch and the sample patch.
