  • Patent number: 10047873
Abstract: A cover assembly for an automatic flushometer includes a locking ring configured for coupling to a flush valve body and configured to be disposed about a rotational axis. The locking ring defines a recess in a radially outer perimeter. A cover defines an opening at one end and a cavity configured to receive a solenoid of the flushometer. The cover has a projection extending radially inwardly from a radially inner surface of the cover. The projection defines a circumferential groove. The projection is configured to allow movement of the cover relative to the locking ring along the rotational axis when aligned with the recess in the locking ring. The groove is configured to receive a portion of the locking ring circumferentially adjacent to the recess upon rotation of the cover about the rotational axis thereby preventing movement of the cover relative to the locking ring along the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 10006556
Abstract: A motion enhancing mechanism assembly suited for use with fluid control devices such as a piezoelectric modulating actuator of a proportional control valve. Range-limited axial motion of the actuator is transmitted through an amplifier disc to cause tilting of a control plate initially in sealing registration with an orifice ridge surrounding a fluid conduit aperture. Tilting of the control plate opens a wedge-like gap through which fluid may flow with larger conductance than is available with a planar gap of uniform height otherwise achievable with the range-limited motion of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 9993758
Abstract: A hydraulic system primary fluid reservoir in fluid communication with an auxiliary reservoir having a cartridge and an elastic fluid impervious chamber and apparatus for sealing the elastic fluid impervious chamber with the interior thereof in fluid communication with the inside air of an associated primary fluid reservoir. Said cartridge contains an oxygen absorber that removes oxygen molecules from the reservoir air. The cartridge includes a desiccant to dry the reservoir air. A metallic heat conduction rod is partially exposed to internal air and partly exposed to ambient air. The conduction rod is in close proximity to the oxygen absorber and desiccant in the cartridge. A cool portion on the conduction rod attracts hot humid internal air causing condensation of water near the surface of the conduction rod.

  • Patent number: 9995420
Abstract: A fire engine hose connector system and a method for using the system are reported. The system allows for rapid connection between the fire hose and the fire engine, and more importantly the system enables even more rapid disconnection. The fire engine and firefighting personnel may make a rapid escape form an overtaking wildfire. The ability to rapidly disconnect and escape from the fire scene allows the fire engine and personnel to access hydrant supplies that would otherwise not be available due to safety procedures that preclude connection when the long disconnect time requirements of prior art connectors place the escape of the fire engine and personnel at risk in a rapidly moving fire. The connector further includes a means to bend the connector for stress relief and ease of handling and multiple safety interlocks.

  • Patent number: 9962483
Abstract: Flow control devices and methods using the flow control devices are provided. In a general embodiment, a cassette includes a housing having a constrictor, a tube attached to the housing and positioned through the constrictor, and a ball positioned inside the tube. The constrictor can be constructed and arranged to prevent the ball from moving through the tube at the location proximate the constrictor. The ball can prevent fluid flow in one position and be dislodged to allow fluid flow when the cassette is positioned inside a pumping device. As a result, the cassette is designed to prevent free flow of fluid when an enteral feeding tube set is not installed in a pumping device.

  • Patent number: 9933094
Abstract: A connector system for medical fluid includes a male connector and a female connector that have a closed configuration when detached from one another. The first end of the male connector is configured to mate with a first end of the female connector. When the male connector is coupled with the female connector, complementary structures engage to move seals away from ports in the male connector and the female connector, opening a fluid pathway through the connectors. The mating ends of the connectors are not exposed to the medical fluid when the connectors are coupled so that when the connectors are disconnected, the mating ends are substantially free of residual medical fluid.
