  • Patent number: 9514916
Abstract: Disclosed is a thermosyphon system for cooling a platen in an ion implantation system. The thermosyphon system may include a vacuum chamber housing at least one wafer platen and a phase separator tank operative to contain both a liquid and gas phases of an element. A re-condensing cold head is exposed within the phase separator tank and is operative to condense the element from its gas phase to its liquid phase. This creates a convection driven closed loop pipe configuration. The closed loop pipe configuration includes a liquid phase pipe to carry the lower temperature liquid phase from the phase separator tank to the platen in the vacuum chamber. A reaction with the warmer platen converts the liquid phase to the gas phase. A gas phase pipe carries the higher temperature gas phase from the platen in the vacuum chamber back to the phase separator tank.

  • Patent number: 9470441
Abstract: A dehumidifier includes a suction unit, a dehumidifying unit having a chiller, a discharge unit having a heat radiator, a refrigerant circulating system, and a heat exchanger. The suction unit sucks humid air into the dehumidifying unit, which cools the humid air and condenses the moisture in the humid air to create dry air. The discharge unit heats and discharges the dry air coming from the dehumidifying unit, and the heat exchanger exchanges heat between the humid air and the dry air coming from the dehumidifying unit. The refrigerant circulating system is used to cool the humid air at the dehumidifying unit and to heat the dry air at the discharge unit. In some embodiments, the heat exchanger includes a heat transfer unit, wherein flat plates are turned back alternately in opposite directions, and a first and second flow passage are prepared alternately in many layers between the flat plates.

  • Patent number: 9360163
Abstract: A liquefied gas system and method can supply gas from a liquefied gas container more efficiently by using an external stabilizing device. The liquefied gas is located under its own vapor pressure in the lower portion of the container. As the vapor is withdrawn from the container at ambient pressure, the liquid evaporates at an equivalent rate to account for the decrease in pressure. The stabilizing device surrounding the liquefied gas container efficiently transfers the ambient external heat to the liquid thus allowing more liquefied gas to be vaporized.

  • Patent number: 9341402
Abstract: A household refrigerator includes an icemaker in the cabinet and an ice storage area on a door. An ice flow passage extends between the icemaker and the ice storage area. A moveable flap is associated with the ice flow passage to cover an opening in the ice flow passage on the cabinet when the door is open. The moveable flap has an equilibrium position wherein the movable flap substantially covers the ice flow passage. A vent in the flap permits air to flow through the ice flow passage to the ice storage area with the movable flap in the equilibrium position. As ice moves through the ice passage from the icemaker towards the ice storage area, the momentum of the moving ice moves the movable flap from the equilibrium position to the dispensing position to permit the ice to flow to the ice storage area.

  • Patent number: 9310121
Abstract: A high performance refrigerator includes a cabinet with a refrigerated interior and a refrigeration fluid circuit having first and second evaporators located within the cabinet and separated from the refrigerated interior by an insulating cover. The refrigerator also includes a first damper controlling flow from the refrigerated interior into the first evaporator, a second damper controlling flow from the first evaporator to the second evaporator, and a third damper controlling flow from the second evaporator to the refrigerated interior. The first evaporator operates with refrigerant at a lower temperature than the second evaporator such that substantially all frost formed on the first and second evaporators is collected on a first evaporator coil in the first evaporator. Thus, the first evaporator acts as a sacrificial evaporator that undergoes defrost more frequently than the second evaporator.

  • Patent number: 9310116
Abstract: An ice support and storage tray includes one or more cavities having upwardly facing spherical surface portions that support spherical pieces of ice. The tray is preferably made of a material having a low thermal conductivity to reduce melting of the spherical pieces of ice. The spherical support surfaces minimize melting points that could otherwise cause the spherical pieces of ice to melt and develop irregular surface shapes. The ice tray may be used in a freezer having an ice maker that transports spheres of ice to the ice support cavities. The ice storage tray may be configured to permit removal of spheres of ice without tipping the tray upside down and/or twisting/deforming the tray.
