Abstract: Methods (100) and apparatuses (12, 24, 38) taught herein advantageously facilitate use of timing measurements in wireless communication networks (10) where radio signal timing measurements involve signals at different carrier frequencies. The methods and apparatuses in particular compensate such timing measurements for expected discrepancies in the measurements that arise from frequency-dependent differences in the propagation behavior of the radio signals being measured. In a non-limiting example, measurements at two or more frequencies may be compensated for the frequency distance between those frequencies, or with respect to a reference frequency. In such cases, timing measurements determined for one or more other radio signals are compensated as a function of the frequency distance between the reference frequency and the frequencies of such other radio signals.

  • Patent number: 9451056
Abstract: An operating system adds an application signature as a tag in a packet header. In one embodiment the tag is inserted as a Q-tag in an Ethernet header. When a network element receives the tagged packet, it uses the tag alone or in combination with one or more additional header fields to map the packet to a network virtualization identifier segregating the application traffic on the network. Services are applied to packets according to network virtualization identifier to enable distributed application of services without requiring network elements to maintain state associated with packet flows.

  • Patent number: 9204461
Abstract: The present invention relates to an access method for solving ambiguity between an initial access mobile station and a base station, wherein the ambiguity occurs in a carrier aggregation environment. When a base station transmits a downlink message including different downlink ID information through plural downlink carriers, a base station obtains the corresponding downlink ID information through a downlink carrier used by the mobile station. The mobile station transmits an uplink message using the obtained downlink ID information, and the base station extracts the downlink ID information from the uplink message in order to confirm which downlink carrier the mobile station uses.

  • Patent number: 9112764
Abstract: A gateway router apparatus sends a first multicast SOLICIT message with a prefix length hint based on a number of network segments associated with the apparatus. The apparatus receives a second multicast SOLICIT message with a prefix length hint, from a downstream router in a premises network. At the apparatus, the following are recorded: (i) an estimated prefix length associated with the second multicast SOLICIT message; and (ii) an interface associated with the second multicast SOLICIT message. At the apparatus, a first ADVERTISE message is received, and a REQUEST message is sent, both over the internet. The REQUEST message specifies a prefix length based on the number of network segments associated with the apparatus and the recorded estimated prefix length associated with the second multicast SOLICIT message. The apparatus sends a second ADVERTISE message advertising ability of the apparatus to delegate prefixes in accordance with the REQUEST message.

Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for correlating status information generated in a computer network. A computing system receives, for each particular computer server or application program in a group of computer servers and application programs that are executing on the computer servers, information that identifies statuses of the particular computer server or application program at a plurality of times. The computing system generates, using the information received, network signatures that each represent statuses of the computer servers and application programs in the group for a particular time, the network signatures being for multiple times.

Abstract: A network analysis system invokes an application specific, or source-destination specific, path discovery process. The application specific path discovery process determines the path(s) used by the application, collects performance data from the nodes along the path, and communicates this performance data to the network analysis system for subsequent performance analysis. The system may also maintain a database of prior network configurations to facilitate the identification of nodes that are off the path that may affect the current performance of the application. The system may also be specifically controlled so as to identify the path between any pair of specified nodes, and to optionally collect performance data associated with the path.

Abstract: An attribute propagation method and a switch system based on a fiber channel network are disclosed. According to the present invention, after an attribute is registered on one of its ports, each switch can automatically use its port on the other side to propagate this attribute, and a next adjacent switch can register this attribute on its port on the same side, so that ports on one side of all switches can have this attribute registered automatically. Hereafter, after the attribute is registered its port on the other side, each switch can automatically use its port on said one side that has been registered to propagate this attribute reversely and a next adjacent can register this attribute on its port on the other side, so that ports on the other side of all switches can automatically have this attribute registered. In this way, there is no need to manually configure each port.
