  • Patent number: 5308254
Abstract: A connector device for connecting and disconnecting female and male connectors by use of a fitting operation lever which allows easy and accurate confirmation of the incomplete fitting of the connectors to thereby prevent such incomplete fitting. The device includes a fitting operation lever (5), which is rotatably disposed in a female connector (A) and has a driving groove (6) in the front end portion thereof, and a driven pin (11) which is provided in a male connector (B) and is engageable with the drive groove (6). The connecting device connects the female and male connectors (A) and (B) with each other and disconnects them from each other upon rotation of the fitting operation lever (5). When the connectors are only partially connected to each other, there is some space for free and easy movement in the operation lever which allows the lever (5) to rotate in the reverse, un-locking direction due to its own weight. Thus, the incomplete connection can be visually detected.

  • Patent number: 5306166
Abstract: A chip storage and insertion guide includes a generally rectangular plastic housing with a top wall, side walls and end walls. The end walls define guide posts for insertion into matching apertures in a printed circuit board. The side walls are configured so that the pins of a new chip are bent inwardly slightly as the chip is gently forced into the rectangular guide until it is flush against the inside of the top wall. A handle portion of a pivoted arm mechanism extends transversely across the top wall at each end of the housing. Pivot arms at each end of the handle extend down the side walls and are attached thereto with pegs pivotally engaged in notches formed in the side walls. When the two arm mechanisms are pivoted outwardly, a shoulder portion of each arm moves upwardly to align a camming surface with the lower edge of the side walls thereby enabling the chip to be inserted in the socket of the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5299956
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for reducing pair to pair cross talk which arises in electrical connectors due to closely spaced elongated parallel contacts. The cross talk which occurs within the connector is reduced by modifying certain circuit paths either inside or outside of the connector so that each conductor of a first pair which is parallel to and cross talking with an adjacent conductor of a second pair in the connector is relocated adjacent and parallel to the other conductor of the second pair over a predetermined distance. It is preferred that the relocation of the circuit paths occur on a circuit board which is attached to the connector.

  • Patent number: 5297976
Abstract: A sealable electrical connector includes a housing having a passage therethrough which is open at both ends. A portion of the length of the passage defines a seal retaining region and includes an undercut edge. The seal retaining region receives an elastomeric seal ring which engages, and is retained by the undercut edge. A grip member which includes projecting electrical contacts is affixed to one end of the housing so as to seal the passage, to further retain the seal ring therein and to support the electrical terminal into the passageway. When a mating connector is inserted into the passageway for contact with the terminal therein, the sealing ring provides a sliding, seal with the mating connector against environmental conditions. Also disclosed is an improved ring seal providing uniform resistance to the insertion of a mating connector.
